Description

Hard pack majesty.

When Maxxis mated a nearly continuous center ridge with low-profile knobs, it knowingly created a tire with an advantage on high-speed trails. This tire is the Crossmark 27.5-inch.

The 60tpi casing is wrapped in a tread pattern that favors hardpack, yet this tire still holds its own on wet and loose sections of trail. This is possible due to spacing between the center lugs and the raised side knobs. However, we accredit it the Crossmark's strategically placed side knobs.

The Maxxis Crossmark 27.5in tire comes in a 2.1-inch width.

Great lightweight XC tire.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I was a first time user at the recommendation of some friends have been really happy with the level of grip and the light weight of the EXC model. It did take a little more sealant than normal but once that was sorted they have been no problem.
Cornering grip is higher than the Racing Ralphs on my last bike, they are fast rollers with the nifty center tread pattern, and did I mention they were light!
I ride mostly hardpack and loose over hard and have been gaining back some of the full throttle cornering speed I had lost on the Racing Ralphs.

Solid?

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

If this tire is anything like it's smaller and larger brother it's going to be a great all around tire. Great compound and traction.
