Roll over anything

The Maxxis Ardent tire was given a rounded profile and 2.25in width for a smoother ride.  It also has an aggressive tread pattern that not only allows you to float over the rough stuff, but to have plenty of traction on tap, too.

To prevent energy loss, the Ardent's center tread features ramped knobs. And while these are ideal for acceleration, they also assists with braking traction. At the side of the tire, large block-style knobs result in numerous edges for confidence in high-speed cornering.

Please note that this tire features a folding bead, and it is not UST compatible. If you're looking for a UST tire, we recommend the Ardent 29in Evo Tire.

The Maxxis Ardent 29in Tire is available in the color Black and with a 2.25-inch width.

  • Ramped center knobs
  • Large, blocky side knobs
  • Folding bead, not UST-compatible

New rubber for the GF

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

She needed new tires, I got these for her, and she has been very pleased! I run the 27.5 verison on the front of my SB5c and love it. The 2.4 in this and the 27.5 is not the same as the 26 which was a larger volume tire.

Great tires for the Arizona desert.

These tires grip well without a major penalty in rolling resistance. The tubless ones are hard to find so I ordered the 2.4 Dual Compound EXO and set them tubless without issues. They've been holding pretty well.

29x2.4 Ardent Dual Compound is NOT dual

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Ordered the 29x2.4 Dual compound/EXO. Received 29x2.4 single compound exo. Note: according to Maxxis' website, all 29x2.4 Dual compound Ardents are tubeless ready. Since what I received was single compound, it was NOT tubeless ready.

    Great tire for hard surfaces.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great tire for harder surfaces with limited moisture. I run this tire the widest I can get away with on the front . I run the 2.25 on the rear of my Tall boy and it works great with about 37-40 PSI. Perfect tire for hard pan conditions. I have ran same tire for 3 years now. Love it.

Are these tires single compound or dual-compound? And which ones are tubeless ready (TLR)? Maxxis makes both TLR and non-TLR versions.

Since Backcountry chat staff wasn't very helpful to get my required info above, I ended up ordering a set of EXO tires anyways, and what I received (29x2.25) were single compound, and (thankfully) tubeless ready tires (TB96734100).

    Great all around tire

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I put a set of the Ardent EXO / TR tires on my Pivot 429c and couldn't be happier. Overall traction is almost as good as the High Roller II's, but they roll much faster. Great tire for all day trail rides and XC racing on the more technical courses.
