Zxellium Ultimate Pedals

As their name suggests, Mavic's Zxellium Ultimate Pedals occupy the top tier of Mavic's clipless road offerings. Made with a featherweight carbon body and hollow titanium axle, the pedals dutifully transfer power from your feet to your frame as you ride, and Mavic's low-pressure IClic engagement system keeps the cleat/pedal interface responsive.

Mavic uses a low 13.5mm stack height to position your feet close to the pedal and ensure watts aren't lost between the two. The low profile also helps lessen tilting, aiming to result in a more efficient pedal stroke. This construction is paired with an expansive 700mm carbon fiber body plate to support your foot over long rides without weighing down the pedals, which — with the help of the titanium axle — weigh in at a claimed 135g. As a long-lasting touch, Mavic designed the body plate to be replaceable, so you can keep these pedals in your rotation for the long haul.

Like all Mavic pedals, the Zxellium Ultimates allow for both angular float and lateral adjustment, with 5 degrees of the former and 2.5mm of the latter to allow you to customize the pedals to achieve your ideal fit. Additionally, the pedals don't cater to one specific biometric profile; rather, they come with three pre-set float adjustment positions so that you can choose or change your preferences as needed.
