Zipper didn't last

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used these for about 10 rides, and the zipper simply fell apart. CC was great with the return, but I cannot recommend them. I've used Pearl Izumi in the past, and will stick with what works.

AT LEAST, DESIGN OF MAVIC IS GOOD~

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I really like the design of this shoe cover. I think this shoe cover is the best choice at this discount price. Like other reviews say, it is hard to put it on and take it off quickly because of its small fit.
At first, I agonized about how to put it on. Should I put my shoes in the shoe cover, and then I put my feet in the shoes? My first attempt to put it on took 10 minutes.
However, once you get it on, it looks perfect. The design quality of MAVIC did not let me down.

Yet another bootie failure....

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'm gonna start my own cycling bootie company since half of what I buy is crap, or won't last a season. There are a great example. If you can get these to last more than 5 outings, I'm impressed.

- Fit was WAY too tight for it's labeled size.
- Zipper was terrible as it didn't allow adequate access
- Top cuff material when wet, felt like a dishrag on my canckle.

Not sure why one of the best wheel companies decided they needed to get into the clothing space, but if these booties are any indicator of their ability to execute on a clothing product line they need to try much much harder.

good shoe cover for the price

got this on sale for $30. can't beat the price. other reviews are not so good so I took a chance on it. so far no problems. I got the XL and I wear size 10.5 shoes. It's definitely a tight fit but once you get it on, it actually fits perfectly. good wind proof material. wore on a 2 hour ride in 40-45 degree weather and my feet were nice and warm. i've worn this 3 times now and haven't had any problems with the zipper. the whole thing seems very well constructed to me and good quality. so far very happy with this purchase.

Oregon Requires Booties Like This!

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The price was right, but sometimes you take a risk when you purchase sight unseen. Well, I was pleasantly surprised that these were high quality booties. They are a bit hard to put on (tip: once on the shoe, leave them on and use the little flap to release your ratchet strap and pull the shoe off when loosened.). But they perform great!

Well constructed, poor zipper

These are nice. Waterproof, snug fit. Look like they will hold up.
The zipper is really bad. They are very hard to get the shoe in and then get on. Ok for longer rides, but it means they aren't really practical for commutes and short trips.

Bad zipper design

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are very good looking shoe covers, and have a great access point for tightening shoes on the go. However, the rear zipper design is terrible. It is not long enough, so a lot of force has to be used to put the bootie on over shoes. I wear a 42.5 and purchased a large, so this is not a sizing issue. The heel seams started separating after my 2nd wearing due to the poor zipper design. I will be sending back to Backcountry shortly.

Not worth it

Was excited about getting this shoe cover since it blocks the wind at a decent price. I got the size L for a size 43 shoe. Unfortunately when I received it, I had a really tough time putting it on the shoe -- Mavic made the rear zip very small ,and didn't think about how hard it would be to put on shoe covers on bike shoes with speedplay cleats. Returned it because (1) I didn't want risk ripping the shoe cover while putting it on since it was such a tight fit, and (2) I don't want to spend 5 minutes putting on the shoe cover every time the weather's cold enough for it.

Wouldn't even fit over my shoe

These shoe covers sounded great. I orders a large, which all of my other shoe covers are. I could not even fit these over my shoes. I only wear a size 43 shoe, a large should easily fit but because of the way these are configured, I could never get them on my foot to try out.

All show and NO go!

I purchased this product as a mid wt dry use shoe cover. This product looks great and has a great design feature allowing shoe adjustment, but from a construction point of view it is a complete failure. To begin with the zipper length is too short compared to other shoe covers I use including Giordona, Raphe, and L Garneau. Secondly, the zipper broke on the second use. The problem is that the mechanism to stop the zipper at the bottom is inadequate. Basically the zipper separates at the bottom when stretching it over the heal of the shoe. I have repaired this by stitching the bottom portion of the zipper closed, but this was still unsuccessful. Also, the rubberized fabric used on the toe and heal of the cover is quite thin and has started to tear from the ankle tension device on my Sidi road shoes after only minimal use. I really question if the people at Mavic even did any research on this product before putting it on the market. I cannot recommend this product to anyone who plans on actually using a shoe cover.
