Less water weight.

While lightweight shoes are designed to breathe extremely well, they're not intended for cooler or wet conditions. The Mavic Pro H2O Shoe Cover, on the other hand, is intended for just that.

The Pro H20 Shoe Cover is made from Mavic's Tech Dry + material to block water from entering your kicks, for a lighter, warmer training ride. It also has reflective elements for added low-light safety during those wet rides.

A TPU front pad adds stability when walking, and to ease donning, a rear zip lets you add warmth to your shoes in seconds. The Mavic Pro H2O Shoe Cover comes in sizes X-Small through Large.

Here's what others have to say...

Functions as advertised

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:Runs small

I live in the Pacific Northwest and bought these for commuting to work at 9 miles each way. I've tested them in heavy and light rains as well as cold mornings (~30 degrees).

My first impression was that these were way too small. I ordered size large for my size 47 shoes and I really had to struggle to get them on. Over time, they stretched out a little and became easier to put on, but they aren't something that's easily removed after your ride. I keep them on and slip into my shoes without untying my shoe laces, which is something that might not be possible with other shoes.

As for function, I've never had cold feet or toes using these. They also keep my shoes and socks dry in light rain, but in heavy rain it seeps through. I think it comes in through the bottom where there are holes for cleats.

Since they keep water out only to a certain extent, the best use for these for me is to keep my shoes clean. They shield my shoes from all road grime and the polyurethane material from which they are made is easily cleaned by a few wipes with a paper towel once I arrive at work.

The durability is slightly nuanced since they don't really fit that well over my shoes; they might be better for someone with smaller shoes. For me, the seams are coming undone after about one month of use where I ride most days to work, not including the weekend. They're also taking on a cracked appearance over my shoe laces where they've seemed to stretch beyond their limit. So far, neither water nor cold air haven't gotten through via those, but I can foresee them not holding much longer. I didn't really expect them to last for more than a season (I've had a few seasoned cyclists tell me that overshoes simply don't last more than that), but they did seem to start falling apart rather quickly.

With that said, I'm happy with how they perform, so I would recommend them.
