Getting ready to put it out again!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I wear this jacket on my daily Alaskan winter commutes. It had kept me warm and dry with only a base layer in to the low 20'sF and in below 14F with an additional layer in-between. Zipper vents are in the right spots to help prevent overheating and small touches like the off set zipper are things you don't notice until you put on a regular jacket. Then you miss it!!

I'm 6'4" at 220lbs and the XL fits perfect especially in the sleeves. Hopefully this is only out of stock due to new colors coming out for 2016. It would be a shame for this jacket to be discontinued..

I just ordered the Inferno bottoms which are current on sale as I am typing this.

warm and great fit

  • Gender:Male
  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

The jacket is very comfy, and warm. rode 50 miles a couple days ago in 28f with heavy wind, only a thin short sleeve base layer under and no issues. vents work well. i am 6' - 210# and have enough room for a long sleeve base layer under jacket. the neck is loose enough to not cause issues while riding. offset zipper is great.

jacket will feel stiff and arms will feel long with initial fitting, but once on ride and in saddle the cut on the jacket is great. i ride a fairly aggressive position and don't have any issues with extra material in front.

Best Winter Jacket I own

  • Gender:Male
  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Im 5'10" and 200lbs. I ordered a xl but I probably could have fit into a large. I have been out in 17 weather with this Mavic inferno jacket and a midweight fleece top, I was fine. I opened both chest zips and the fore arm zips. I like to be alittle cool. I did leave the rear zip closed. Just today I went out and it was 48. I only wore a summer sleeveless jersey under the jacket. It was perfect with all zips open. Hands down the warmest and most versatile cycling jacket I have owned. I have yet to ride the jacket in the rain. The balaclava is a nice touch also. It doesn't stow away in the collar. It buttons to the inside of the jacket but I just throw it in one of the rear pockets. It's compact but warm. Enjoy

Really warm

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

Have this for 2 weeks now, and I have ridden 3 times with temps between 33 and 40 degrees for up to 2 hours. Crazy comfortable. The neck is warm and the removable face mask/hood is comfortable and effective. I tried opening the sleeve vents all the way and my arms were cold, even with a Craft or Under Armour base layer. A base layer is all that you need, at least down to 33 F. So the arm and chest vents are surprisingly effective. Yes, this is a little bit on the thick side, but the sleeves and neck are really comfortable. This is a windproof jacket. I look like a ninja biker with the hood on, but I now look forward to cold weather riding (as soon as I get warmer shoes or warmer shoe covers.) I have not ridden in the rain yet, but I will update after I do. The body and sleeves are fairly aero and don't flap around, but you do get some turbulence in the ears from the hood. The vent holes over the mouth of the hood keep you from fogging up your glasses lenses. Very thoughtful, nicely designed, warm, and comfortable.

Addendum: Rode in the cold rain this weekend, around 38 F. Gotta say it was a pretty good 90 minute ride in steady rain. The jacket sheds water like a good car cover does. I just shook it off when I got home and most of the water and sandy stuff just came right off. Will see how it holds up after more washings in terms of water shedding.

Love this Jacket

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

This is my goto Jacket for temperatures between 32F up to the high forties. I have two of them, one L (US) and one M (US). Both work well for me (5ft 6in @ 150 lbs) as I seem to fall somewhere between the two sizes. At the current sale price ($124) this is a steal. I also have some older Assos Jackets but I like this one, especially the front zip as I find it very comfortable around the neck when done up as the top of the zip sits offset to the right about an inch so it does not irritate my Adams apple. The sleeves are on the long side but this is intentional to better mate with gloves.
