Mavic Helium H2O Jacket - Men's $0.00
The Mavic Helium H2O Jacket is lighter than most jerseys, but still provides water-resistant breathable protection that can save your ride from an untimely end. The Dura Lite SL fabric provides a waterproof level of protection up to 7000mm in the water column. Essentially, this amounts to protection from either light rain or snow. However, with the jacket's fully-sealed seam construction, we predict that it would be capable of withstanding far more. This is why Mavic gave the Helium H2O its Rain Ride classification. On top of being water-resistant, Dura Lite SL is an open-structured, breathable material. However, while excess heat is allowed to escape the core region, Mavic has ensured that nothing is getting in. Thus, you remain shielded from the elements without the sweaty, clammy feeling that less breathable fabrics can give you.
Mavic's incorporation of its Ergo Cuffs guarantees a stop to water seepage at the sleeve, while the cut assumes the shape of the body on the bike in order to prevent moisture infiltration at the bottom hem and collar. The jacket also features a full-length asymmetrical zipper that lets you dump heat quickly and won't cause irritation when fully zipped.
The Mavic Helium H2O Jacket is available in sizes X-Small to XX-Large and in the colors White or Black.

- How to Measure:
- For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
- Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
- Natural Waist:
- Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
- Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
- Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
- Measure from the center of your back to your wrist with arms held out.

Hi. I've got two questions:
1 How is the sizing of this jacket. I have a helium altium as seen here: http://www.mec.ca/product/5038-526/mavic-helium-jacket-mens/?f=10&q=mavic%2Bjacket in large and the fit is perfect. Is this the same size?
2. How is the rain protection compared to the above referenced jacket? Or do you know?
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
I wear a small in most athletic clothing so when I saw this on sale in a small (X-Small wasn't listed) it was a no brainer!! However, the small is awfully big and subsequently doesn't fit well. It causes drag on those fast descents which totally sucks. I have no doubt that if this was sized right, it'd be an awesome jacket!
The real bummer? I owned it for about 2.5 months before I used it (it was winter when I bought it) and its too late to return it.
Be careful of sizing
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:Runs large
I have used the jacket only a few times and not yet in the pouring rain. I ordered a small and it arrived saying U.S. small but International medium and I think it fits more like a medium. I have heard it comes in a XS but not at Backcountry. The plastic zipper split from the bottom the first time riding with it but repairable.

Hi. Does this jacket pack down to a small size? Does it also come with a stuff sack?
Yes, very small! About the size of an orange or grapefruit. It does not come with a stuff sack nor has any pockets, only side and rear vents
