Description

Cross-country light, all-mountain strong.

Looking for a wheel that doesn’t skimp on performance, but comes at a price the wife will never notice on the cc statement? Check out Mavic’s UST Crosstrail Disc Wheels or Wheelset. Packing the technology of wheels costing twice as much, you'll ride with less effort—and have some scrilla left over for that desert trip bouncing around in your head.

  • Patented Interspoke milling on the rim reduces unwanted rotational weight without adversely affecting strength
  • UST compatibility allows the use of flat resistant, faster rolling UST tires
  • Force Transfer System freewheel provides quick engaging, long-lasting, and free-spinning performance
  • An arc welded and machined SUP rim joint ensures strength and balance
  • High-quality sealed cartridge bearings keeps these wheels spinning smooth with long maintenance intervals
  • Front hub will accept either a 15-millimeter quick-release, or a standard 9-millimeter quick-release
  • CenterLock mounts with included 6-bolt adapter eases rotor compatibility pains

Pull the trigger

While these are on sale they are probably the best deal on 26" MTB wheels on the planet. I currently ride a set of 2010 and they have been bombproof for my 240# of trail riding.
I ordered a set of these 2011 models with the convertible front hub and 150g weight savings.

Dumb question: Is there any particular reason that a rear wheel costs more than a pair in this offer?

Responded on

Becuase its on a 50% off sale. 50% of $600 is $300 and the normal price for a rear wheels is $317.

If those pictures are accurate, yes. The 2010 model looks different.

The 2010 model is also 150 grams heavier and doesnt have the 9 mm-15 mm front hub QR conversion.

Noob question but when selecting a wheel with 9/15. Does that mean it's able to be used with either 9mm or 15mm QR axles? Thanks!

Responded on

Other sites list this wheelset as having a QR adapter. That means that you'll be running a 15mm hub and have the ability to use the included 9mm QR adapters to run a 9mm front hub.

Those wheels in the photos (as of today) are also Centerlock wheels. Again, the other sites have this wheelset listed as being Centerlock hubs with 6-bolt adapters so that you can run either Centerlock rotors or standard 6-bolt rotors.

looks like those answering your questions are noob's too! - they aren't even answering the question! You are asking about 9mm vs. 15mm axle - not brake adapters! The answer is YES, the front hub does both. All you do is push out the 9mm adapter from the inside (with included rod) and you are left with a 15mm hub! Easy and good.

You guys seem to know what you're talking about, so can you advise whether these rims are good for a 190 pound (all muscle) guy who rides fast and hard cross country. We don't have dry waterfall beds down here in South Florida. If we want those, we go to Piscah Mountains NC :)

Thanks,

Tom
