Ride protected.

If you're looking for bombproof enduro hooves that can still throw down on race day, look no further than the Mavic Men's Crossride XL Elite Protect Shoes. Built with a smidge more flexibility than a race-specific shoe, these shoes bring versatility and comfort to your favorite trails. Their Quick Lace system makes tightening down the fit a snappy, single-pull endeavor, while a hook-and-loop strap across the top of the foot adds extra security and fit adjustment. A large, protective, hook-and-loop secured panel folds over the lacing system for added protection from errant branches, rocks, and other trail obstacles.

Mavic adds a band of perforated neoprene extending around the ankle for an extra dose of protection for those bony protuberances. Underfoot, the Energy Grip Trail outsole efficiently transfers power and features Contragip rubber for exceptional grip when scrambling over rocky surfaces and extra confident pedal contact.

  • A mountain shoe built for comfort on gnarly enduro runs
  • Sole privileges DH reliability and comfort over XC efficiency
  • All-terrain grip for extended hike-a-bike situations
  • Supports and protects the entire foot
  • Even the closure system is covered with hook-and-loop straps

Finally a Good Fit

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 13.5

I've worn a 13 most of my life, but now seem to need a half size bigger in many brands. So, I struggled to find a new all-mountain/enduro clipless shoe in either 13 or 14 that wasn't too tight or way too loose.

Finally found these in a 13.5, tried them on at the warehouse store and was happy with the initial fit. While a bit flashy for my tastes (I'd worn the same beat up pair of Specialized shoes for nearly 15 years until Getting these), they've proven to be really comfortable and withstood early abuse on more than 100 miles of riding up Dry Creek, down Bobsled and to memory grove so far this spring. They're comfortable to hike in too, when pushing the bike up higher into the hills, and pair nicely with my C/B Mallet E's.

Only remaining tests are breathability in high heat and long-term durability.

Love them so far.

Feels like a stiff sneaker

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I beat the piss out of these shoes, by the time i was done with them the plastic shank was blown out of the bottom. They are a great shoe, I bought them because i wanted something I could walk in if i needed to and these were exactly it. From front range enduro to riding the colorado trail to lift access at keystone and xc in moab these performed wonderfully. I just ordered another pair
