Mavic's answer to the ultimate XC pedal.

What do you get when two iconic French brands pool their resources to create their version of the ultimate XC Race pedal? The Mavic Crossmax SL Ti Pedal, that’s what. The wheel wizards at Mavic enlisted the help of Time’s engineering team, with the goal of adopting the ATAC interface to a pedal that would meet Mavic’s exacting standards. Thanks to a composite body and titanium spindle, the Crossmax SL Ti weighs in at a feathery 240 grams. And since it employs Time’s proven ATAC interface, you’re guaranteed the superior mud shedding and generous float that have made the ATAC series a longtime favorite of racers the world over.

Lightweight pedals don’t mean a thing if the engagement isn’t positive in feel, and predictable in nature. As you probably know, neither of the aforementioned factors is in question with the ATAC interface. The parallel bars that hold the cleat in place allow for 2.5mm of lateral float, which works in conjunction with the 10-degree angular float to keep your knees tracking smoothly, and pain-free. By flipping the cleats, you’re able to achieve a generous 17-degree release angle, or a more conservative 13-degree angle. And you’re able to choose from three spring tension settings, which operate independently of your chosen release angle. In other words, you get the tools you need to achieve the setup that works best with your body, and for your personal tastes. The ATAC mechanism is famed for its incredible mud clearing abilities, making it an excellent choice for cyclocross, or the muddiest of XC races.

The svelte 240g weight would be impossible to achieve without top-tier materials, and the Crossmax SL Ti delivers. Like its SL sibling, the pedal body is built from a high-strength composite. It may lack some of the rock-smashing durability of the Crossmax XL series, but at a weight savings of 100g over the comparable XL version, it’s aimed squarely at endurance racers, rather than fast-and-loose hard chargers. The titanium spindle enhances the weight savings, saving you 40g over the steel-spindled Crossmax SL.

The Mavic Crossmax SL Ti pedal is available in one size, and in the color Black.
