TS8 R27.5in 150 Fork

Magura’s TS8 R27.5 150 is a featherweight fork that’s aimed at modern, lightweight trail bikes. Magura may not have the household name recognition in the suspension fork market that some other suspension companies do, but this revamped fork proves that the Germans aren’t messing around. The distinctive dual-arch design makes it stiffer than other 32mm forks, which is perfect for those who need rigidity, but don’t want to make weight-related sacrifices to get it.

Arguably the most distinctive component of the TS8’s chassis is the dual arch design. Magura’s reasoning is that the dual arches provide improved torsional rigidity, and reduced weight over traditional designs, because each arch is so svelte. Adding to the rigidity is a 15mm quick release thru axle, which fights deflection under hard braking. It is secured using an included T25 Torx driver, which tucks into the disc side of the axle. The oversized crown attaches to a tapered steerer tube, which further enhances stiffness. And the 32mm stanchions keep weight to a minimum.

Inside the TS8, you’ll find a refined air spring, and Magura’s DLO3 (Dynamic Lock Out) damper. The adjustment principle is similar to other trail-oriented forks, with a 3-position damper adjustment that offers a lightly damped, highly responsive setting, a middle setting with more low-speed damping to keep it riding higher in the travel, and a lockout setting, which features a blow-off valve that saves both the damper and your hands if you hit something with the fork locked out.
