TS8 R27.5in 120 eLECT Fork

Over the years, a few manufacturers have toyed with the idea of incorporating electronic adjustment systems into suspension forks, with mixed success. After countless hours of lab and real-world testing, however, the German engineers have bestowed upon us an electronic fork platform we're proud to endorse, and the Magura TS8 R27.5in 120 eLECT Fork is a prime example of the technology they've developed.

The TS8 R27.5in 120 eLECT uses 3D yaw and g-load sensors, wireless technology, and a modern control module to instantly adapt this 120mm-travel fork to varying riding conditions. The eLECT technology runs on a modern lithium battery that'll last 40 hours in automatic mode, and it's stretchable to 60 hours in manual mode. To keep the eLECT system topped off, a dust- and water-tight Micro USB connection makes quick and convenient charging possible.

So what does it mean for you? The eLECT system uses sensors to rapidly feed the module shock, incline, and decline vectors thousands of bits of information per second, whereupon immediate dampening adjustments can be made, keeping the fork in its sweet spot for the given riding conditions. The system can adjust in the blink of an eye to prevent blowing through travel on high-g berms, for example, or from bobbing on climbs. The sensors even notice if the fork is in a free fall, unlocking damper and preparing for impact, even in manual mode. The system is also incredibly lightweight, already housed in a feathery dual-arch, magnesium lower, and 32mm-aluminum stanchioned chassis, tipping the scales a full quarter pound under the four-pound mark.

Magura's TS8 R27.5in 120 eLECT Fork uses a tapered steerer tube, post-mount brakes, and 15mm thru-axle. It is designed for use with 27.5-inch (650b) wheels and mountain bikes only, and it comes in two finishes: Black or White.
