Kept me warm
Took mine out for a Xmas day spin. I hate the cold, and found this kept me warm! The blue is really cute too.
This jersey is perfect for those cooler mornings but as the day (and you!) start warming up, you can shed the shrug and still be in comfortable cycling gear. The shrug is warm, fits perfectly in the middle back pocket, and I found the combo to move comfortably with me. They do run a bit smaller than most of the Luna gear I have tried, but it is high quality and with the versatility, I'm still giving it 5 stars! I am looking forward to using it for commuting as well, when I can use the jersey alone for the warmer afternoon ride but stay warm in the cool morning air.
Material definitely made for cool weather. I find the jersey is a bit smaller than I expected. I frequently use the shrug for other jerseys I have. The arms have an extra extension that, on short me, reach almost to the base of my fingers. The ebony color is more of a medium gray with the red being a dull red-brick color. Neck/zipper comfort is decent. Just the shrug alone was enough to keep me toasty in about 40 degree weather. Moisture-wicking worked well. Really handy set to have around. If you take off shrug and roll up to pack away in back pocket, said pocket is super full and nothing else fits in. Overall I would recommend and am thinking of getting 2nd one.
Great idea that mostly works. Here's what I love: the fabric- it's soft and flattering, it's also surprisingly warm; I have the white/blue/yellow combo. The shrug- gives me extra coverage where I need it. Full zip- just love that.
Here's what I'd change: the pockets- the side pockets are smaller than the center one, this is because Luna was thinking more about fashion than fucntion. I have small hands and I think these are small! The double layer of zippers under my chin is not my favorite especially when you add your helmet buckle to the mix. Considered ssending this back but since Luna is no longer in business I'll hang on to it for sentimental reasons. Plus I can see I'll be wearing it a lot.
Soft and versatile
I like this jersey and shrug. The fabric is soft and forgiving and the colors are very true to the pics. The angled pockets in the back were very easy to get into. The shrug was also easy to get off and stuf into a pocket in the middle of the ride when I got warm. Two things I would change about this jersey are the arms and the collar. The arms were too big at the cuff (on the jersey) and the collar on both pieces were stiff and didn't lay right. I think cutting the collar away at the zipper always makes a collar lay better. Otherwise, a great concept and I will be getting a lot of use out of this duo. As always, a great price from Real Cyclist, too!
I want to get the Ebony color Jersey/shrug....
I want to get the Ebony color Jersey/shrug. If it were to get wet from the rain, does the white become see-through?!
The white fabric is a bit transparent while dry. If it becomes wet it will definitely be see through.
