Description

May be the perfect 'cross glove.

We think the Louis Garneau Windtex Eco Flex 2 Glove may be the perfect cyclocross glove for many riders in temperate climates. It's certainly an excellent glove for fall road riding as well, but the rigors of 'cross demand an even more intricate balance of insulation, moisture management, and protection from the elements that some cool-weather gloves just can't provide -- and these gloves have that balance.

Cyclocross races are often run under chilly, wet, and windy conditions, so you certainly need some insulation and protection from the weather. But 'cross also requires difficult braking maneuvers where just the right touch can be the difference between clearing an off-camber turn and wiping out. Bulky insulation simply doesn't allow for that kind of lever feel. The Windtex Eco Flex 2 Glove's windproof, ultralight WindDry 12K softshell fabric includes a polyurethane membrane to give you effective weather protection without bulk. Additionally, Garneau's Ergo Air venting system ensures that sweat is wicked away from the skin and transported to the outer layer.

An Amara palm with strategically-placed foam padding gives you superior grip and relief from chatter-induced numbness. Reflective piping provides some added visibility. The Garneau Windtex Eco Flex 2 Glove comes in sizes Small through XX-Large and in two color options: Black and White.

The perfect go-to

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I've bought these gloves for the last 5-6 years as they are usually worn out by the time the winter season is over. I wear them for practically every ride down to 35 degrees! They are awesome. The original ones had a small tapered cuff which really helped seal around the wrist, but for some reason they did away with it. They're super thin, and you'd think they couldn't handle down to 35 deg, but they're great. Careful, there can be some crookedly sewn fingers here and there, otherwise these really shatter any other glove.

GREAT FOR COOL WEATHER RIDES

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Purchased these for the shoulder season rides. They are perfect for the brisk cooler rides, and are very flexible and comfortable too.

perfect for 40 degree days

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these to ride my mountain bike in the NC and VA area they are great. They fit great on my long skinny fingers. I usually have a hard time finding gloves of any kind that fit my hands but these are great. The lowest temperature I have ridden in with these gloves is in the low 30's. I would use more insulated glove for lower temperatures. Over all a great glove
