Light-handed.

In an age where the simple jersey has morphed into a dimpled body suit and our heads are made to suffer under ventless carapaces in the name of aerodynamics, it's easy to forget that our hands are actually the body part leading into the wind. Fortunately, the folks at Louis Garneau think about this stuff a lot more than we do, and the Vorttice Gloves, with their aerodynamic SpeedTech fabric and elongated, seamless cuffs, return for 2015 with the same recipe for a light-handed touch in aerodynamics.

At the heart of the Vorttice Glove is Biogel Perforated Padding. Biogel absorbs impacts and vibration to reduce shock-induced injury and fatigue. It also virtually eliminates the numbness associated with hours on the bars, and perforations allow air to flow through the glove to keep your hand cool and dry. The Vorttice also employs Garneau's patented Ergo Air Concept, which channels air through the glove to keep your hand cool, dry, and comfortable.

The Vorttice's palm is made from a multi-panel synthetic fabric that feels natural due to its built-in curved finger design. Silicone pullers at the ends of the fingers make it easier to pull the gloves off.

Great gloves

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I agree with Dan. If you like minimal padding in your gloves, these are a great find. You almost forget that you have gloves on when wearing them, save for the fact that they keep your palms from slipping on your bars and also allow you to wipe sweat or snot off of your face. They are pretty easy to get on and off as well, as the little tabs on two of the fingers make pulling them off a breeze. They may take a ride or two for your hands to get used to if you are used to using more padded gloves, but honestly I prefer these now to any other gloves that I own.

If you like little to no padding in your gloves, then these gloves are for you. They are very comfortable, easy to get on and off and have a minimal amount of padding...just the right amount. I've used them on several 100 mile rides and my hands have been very happy. They are by far the best gloves I've had. Give them a try.

Excellent gloves. Well-made, good fit.

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

As good as anything I've worn from the popular brands - Assos, Capo, Giro, Hincapie, Craft. Reasonably priced to boot.

Loved Them

These are really nice gloves. Very minimal padding that is just enough. I crashed and ripped out the palms of both of them. Rode them for another 300 miles or so, that's how much i liked them. Picked up some Capos to replace them. Only one ride so far, but I'm thinking I should of gotten another set of these.

Best Gloves!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These gloves are super minimal and super comfortable. The Biogel perforated padding feels like a fully padded glove but with zero bulkiness. I'm pretty picky about gloves and I've owned quite a few. When my first pair were destroyed is an accident, I went on a hunt to replace them at a highend LBS that gives me a team discount. They did not have these. They had Castelli Presa, Capo Crono, Giro LTZ II, and an Assos glove. None were as comfortable, light, and minimal as the Vorttice.

This is simply the best glove I have ever worn.
