Description

Technical comfort.

Constructed with nine panels of Louis Garneau's Signature Optimum fabric, the Signature Optimum Women's Shorts will provide miles of both comfort and support. Why? Because this material is composed of a nylon/spandex blend that's flexible, yet supportive enough to hold your muscle groups.

This provides you with an ample level of support that, in turn, leads to a reduction in fatigue. The fabric is also lightweight and breathable, which aids in transferring moisture away from your skin, keeping you comfortable and dry. And, in addition to this, anatomically-shaped fabric panels are joined with flatlock seams in order to eliminate irritation and to reduce chafing throughout the construction.

To secure the fit, Louis Garneau incorporated an elasticized drawstring into the waist of the shorts. Furthering this idea, compressive Powerband leg cuffs keep the leg panels firmly in place without restricting circulation. And for safety in low-light conditions, Garneau has also placed back and bottom reflective accents on the shorts.

For further comfort, Louis Garneau incorporated its Silvercool3 chamois into the Optimum shorts. This two-way stretch insert conforms to your body and is composed of multi-thickness, high-density foam for a precisely targeted support. The antibacterial Coolmax top sheet wraps the chamois, so you stay cool and fresh for the long haul.

The Louis Garneau Signature Optimum Women's Shorts are available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large and in the color Black.

good quality but too low on the back

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

When we pulled these out of the packaging we were immediately impressed with the finish of the material and the compression that they offered for a sub $50 pair of bike shorts. Unfortunately once my wife tried them on we realized that the back simply didn't come up high enough for her tastes. Its not indecently low but I wouldn't recommend it for someone that is just getting used to cycling apparel and how it can fit sometimes. For a great short with a little more coverage, check out the LG Alveo shorts:
