Description

Comfort from all sides.

Pulling a portion of its name from Garneau's tried-and-proven chamois, the new Oslo Airzone Bib Tights were developed to provide all-day comfort in the saddle when the weather begins to cool down. Besides the Airzone insert, several of Garneau's other proven materials were chosen to make these supportive, comfortable, and highly versatile new bib tights.

Garneau constructed the Oslo Airzone bib tights out of its HeatMaxx fabric, which is a Roubaix-type material with a smooth outer-surface and a brushed micro-fleece lining. This stretchy fabric strikes a fine balance between keeping you warm without restricting movement or feeling bulky. The tights feature eight panels in total, stitched together with friction-minimizing flatlock seams. The material's composition works to keep your legs warm, while at the same time, ensuring that you stay dry through its exceptional wicking capabilities. Finishing off the bibs' uppers, Garneau incorporated its lightweight mesh, which provides exceptional breathability and chafe-free comfort.

Garneau included its AirZone insert into the Oslo bib tights. This chamois uses a 3D, pre-shaped wing design that moves in unison with your body. After all, a non-conforming insert is one of the leading causes of abrasion. So, to guarantee flexibility, the AirZone chamois uses a variable-density, perforated memory foam that's been shaped objectively towards every direction of movement and pressure. And unlike other forms of variable-density padding, the AirZone shape ensures that height transitions flow smoothly from region to region. This means that pinching and chafing are nearly eliminated. Garneau also included a center channel, much like your favorite saddles, that relieves pressure on the urethra and pudendal nerve.

Rounding out the bib tights, Garneau included seven-inch ankle zips for easy removal, and a generous amount of reflective piping was added to the paneling to keep you seen by motorists in low-light riding conditions.

The Louis Garneau Oslo Airzone Bib Tights are available in six sizes from X-Small to XX-Large and in the color Black.

Good tights good chamois

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

A solid tight for medium-length (give or take) rides. A great combination of 'tight' and 'comfortable.' The chamois is 'workman-like,' meaning no bells and whistles, yet effective. Good on cold rides, and help with the wind - though they are not wind resistant, as such. For the price point, a good tight!

Good Size, Received Slightly Damaged

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Great size bib leggings. I am 5'4" with a 32 inch waist with a not-so-skinny build like some cyclists. The smalls fit great, they looked super small when I took them out of the package but it ended up stretching out and compressing just fine and the straps were perfect for my height.

Great price. The only negative was that upon inspecting them after removing them from the package the "butt" area had looked like it scraped against something and disturbed the fabric slightly. Not enough of a concern to swap out but it wasn't a plus.

Are these water proof or resistant?

Are these water proof or resistant?

They are not water resistant or proof. I just took them out for a quick 15 mile ride and it ended up raining a bit and my legs got soaked. It did dry quickly though, like most cycling garments.

Quality product

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm 5'11

Update: The seat fabric began to pill and wear very quickly. LG did a return and replacement under warranty, but these were clearly problematic. My bib shorts withstood a year of wear, no issues. These, after 1 hour of riding showed wear, pilling in the fabric and looked like I rode on a sandpaper saddle. Must have been a poorly spec'ed fabric. I have 3 LG products, and 2/3 have shown this issue.
