Performance quality doesn’t have to mean discomfort.

When you’re riding hard, comfort is key. Louis Garneau recognizes this, which is why they designed the Neo Power Fit Women’s Short. A HuggFit waist and Powerband compressive leg gripper supports ensure that this short stays put without adding undue pressure, so you stay comfortable even on longer rides. Nice but have to buy larger

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like the shorts but had to send them back for a pair that were two sizes larger than my normal size. I usually wear a large and had to buy XXL. Ouch!

Oh well, its about how they feel not the size.

Most comfortable shorts I own

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love these shorts -- so many shorts I've tried are uncomfortable in the waist but these fit high on the waist and stay there! I've worn them 3 or 4 times and every time I get off the bike, I'm glad I put them on. Unlike one of the other reviewers, I didn't find the chamois bulky. I also love the longer leg length and the added support it gives. Instead, it fit well and breathed well. Next time I buy a pair, it might be these again. I'm so glad I got these.

Sharp-Looking...

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

They don't have the kind of compression I was expecting. Maybe a different line-up would offer more support; or maybe that's just how they are supposed to fit. In any event, for a non-pro-rider, they are fine (though I do put in some miles per ride (40+), but am building up more bit by bit).
The chamois is somewhat bulky, and compared to Giordana, or Gore's Xenon, and does not breathe well at all (in comparison). As far as comfort: I found myself in considerable pain (sit bones) in just a 25 mile ride.
The material is just too heavy-feeling, and almost stifling for hot summer rides.
And they did inch-up a bit, had to adjust between pulling down the legs and pulling up the crotch/waist band. A smaller size would not have helped. They didn't "breathe" as well as hoped.
Bottom line: Still find Giordana/Gore's Xenon line, the best in performance/fit. These are o.k., but not for the 'long-haul', so I will wear them on 'short-hauls'!

Great bike shorts

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are the best fitting bike shorts I have ever owned. I am normally a size 10, petite and the mediums fit well and I like the longer leg length which gives excellent leg support. The material is very comfortable and gives great all overall support. I ride long distances, and spend a lot of time on my bike especially in hot weather and I have never had any trouble with these shorts.

great shorts

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Newbie to cycling but just finished my first 150 mile ride; I was sure glad I bought these before my long ride. I wore these for my first 90 miles . These definitely were an improvement to my Rei brand capri's. I was surprised I could tell the difference but the compression, that the Louis Garneau bike shorts have definitely help prevent muscle fatigue for those longer rides, and great for my circulation since I tend to swell. I was purposely looking for a long short that would go right above the knees, and these definitely do that . They do ride up a very tiny bit maybe an inch if that but not a lot. I have one of those unusual biker bodies where I'm tiny on top(S) and large(XL) on bottom with sausage like legs with no shape so these were great looking on in comparison to other shorts out there and it didn't cut off my circulation like many other bike shorts do, due to shorter lengths. I didn't think I would like the higher waist but turns out it was very comfortable and perfect because my cycling jerseys were short in the torso so it worked out great. The chamois is great for long rides like 50+mile not to bulky but breathable. These are now my go to shorts, very comfortable. Definitely will be buying another pair when I can save the money. 1 star less (tried to put 1/2 but it won't let me) just for the slight riding up they do but it is not much and it maybe due to my thick legs.

Responded on

You may also like the fit & performance of Giordan's Silverline; and also, Gore's XENON...both very comfortable without sacrificing performance. Nor do they restrict in anyway; and both are stylish, too. Nothing wrong with that! Try them out next time!

Oops, type-o! That's Giordana...

The best bike shorts I've ever owned

I have one pair and I'm ready to buy another, soon as I can find an XS. :-) The shorts are true to size, and extremely comfortable. The chamois is soft with enough padding for those all day rides. They are form fitting and really stylish. They have just the right amount of compression to keep your legs fresh. The leg bands are comfortable and don't make your knees and thighs look like they are bulging above and below the band. They are very flattering. I prefer these over the LG equip shorts any day.

She could use a third pair

I got my wife her 2nd pair of the Neo Power shorts for Mothers Day because they're the ones that she always grabs. She has Capo's and Giordana Lasers, but they seldom get worn. She loves the compression fit, especially if we've ridden or she's gone for a run the day before and her legs are still recovering.
