Ewe won't like the...

Smell.

When I tried this jersey on, I thought the fit was a little odd. The zippers bunch and fold a little bit, but I thought...it'll will work.

When I wore it the first time, there was no problem. It was a light ride to work. It was one of many layers keeping me warm. Second time I wore it, on the way home I pushed the pace a bit more and after about 6 miles I noticed an odd smell. At first it was faint, and I thought I needed to wash my balaclava, but by the time I got home (and was fully soaked with sweat) the smell was unbelievably strong, and fowl. Taking off my hood did not remove the odor. It was not as noxious as skunk spray, but pretty close. I couldn't figure out what it was. Then I got inside and started to delayer, and I found the source. This freakin' jersey is like a gremlin. DO NOT GET WET.

I don't know WHO wrote the blurb for this jersey, but making something that stinks to high-hell when it is wet is not "naturally odor-resistant".

Think you can wash out the smell?

IT STINKS WHEN IT'S WET!

Now all of my laundry smells like this gosh-forsaken jersey.

Ewe will regret going on the lamb in this jersey.

Would be fantastic, but...

Smells like gross wet sheep when it gets damp/ sweaty. I have EWR and I/O bio stuff and they don't have this issue. I hope it goes away after I wash it.

Good via SAC

Picked this up on SAC for thirty bones. Pretty good deal considering I was looking at the Ibex for 100. The fit is pretty true to form. Got a large, and I am 6'2" and 190 with a 31 inch inseam. The zipper feels a little beefy at the bottom, and the fabric, even though it says it's the same thread count/style as the ibex, doesn't feel quite as soft and supple against the skin. I've worn it on a couple early morning rides here in the SF Bay Area and it definitely wicks the moisture and keeps me warm. No rear pockets, but I don't go on but one long ride a week or two, so no big deal.

I like that it can double as a functional piece around town. Just make sure you don't have anything on too flashy underneath, as it shows through easily. Otherwise, have at it.

Overall, a pretty good deal if you can pick one up on SAC. Otherwise, I would spend a bit more and go with a brand that knows Merino.

I'm 145lbs. and nearly 6', with arms of an orangutan. How do the arms fit? I'm on the fence between a Md and Lg

Responded on

The arms are long to fit the rider's reach when cycling. You are going to be right on the edge for both jerseys. But for torso length and arm length, I'd suggest the L. If you are more concerned with how the piece fits around your torso, then go M.

Responded on

I'm just about the same size. I got a medium, and it's definitely the right choice. It's actually kind of big, but the pamphlet that comes with it says it shrinks about 5% after the first wash. I keep meaning to wash it so it fits better, but I'm always nervous it won't be ready for my next ride. It's a very comfy piece of kit. Arms will definitely be long enough for you in the medium.

The size information you've posted is for headgear. I'm wondering whether this is more of a race fit or a relaxed fit.

Responded on

Ray. This is a profit top. It will wear like a "race fit". Let me know if you need more detailed sizing info.
