Description

A short for long hauls.

You’ve been training hard, and you’re almost ready for next week’s century—all you need now is the Louis Garneau Women’s Equipe Cycling Short for long-distance comfort in the saddle. This short features Louis Garneau’s most comfortable chamois, the AirGel, that provides unsurpassed cushioning thanks to its strategically placed perforated gel inserts that add without compromising ventilation. The Equipe features a unique combination of fabrics for optimum performance–Lycra Power offers enhanced compression for better muscle support, while the brushed back of the Fit Sensor fabric wicks moisture more efficiently. A HuggFit waist provides better abdominal support and distributes pressure evenly around the waist; at the other end of the short, Powerband compressive grippers prevent riding up or chafing, without exerting uncomfortable pressure on the lower leg.

Here's what others have to say...

love these shorts, i like the longer length and have thrown out all my other shorts. Just be sure to order larger size, they run small.

Run VERY small!

These shorts feel and look great (got them in red). However, take the others' advice and size up! I'm certainly glad I did! I'm 5'6, ~120lbs (34" hips, 20'' thighs)... I have other LG kits in XS/Small, but I ordered the medium. They fit perfect, and still tight enough to make me wonder how I would've possibly squeezed into anything smaller. Plus, the red shorts are white all along the backside, so you don't want that stretched out and see-through!
(If ordering the matching jersey, go with regular sizing. I got the XS and it's right on.)

Runs very small

I wish I'd read the reviews before making this purchase. I own 2 pairs of Louis Garneau Zone 3K Shorts in a size SMALL, and they fit perfectly. I assumed a SM Equipe short would be a decent fit, too. Wrong. Not even close. I wear Pearl Izumi, and Moving Comfort is XS, so I'm not delusional. ;)

The larger sizes are sold out, which is such a disappointment because they're very cute shorts.

do run small

I rode in them this morning and I agree with others that the sizing runs small. The leg bends are especially tight for me. I do have bigger thighs for my size - I do squats and dead lifts at gym every week, but usually fits well in XS of most of the brands. I own Giordana RFC bibs and Pearl izumi shorts all in XS and they fit well. (especailly Giordana RFC's true to size). LG Equipe is true to size on waist and down to upper thighs but suddenly get tighter around the lower thighs. While riding, my legs got pumped with all the blood circulation and everything then leg bends felt even tighter. Now, I need to make my thighs smaller or hope the leg bends stretch to keep riding in these shorts :p

True to size

So, I now own two pairs of these shorts, one in the lavender and one that I bought at another website in black and white. I read the above review of the girl who is a size 6 and said that the XL was the only size that fits her. I am 36-29-37 and usually wear a size 6 or 8 in most clothing a nd medium in most American sized cycling shorts. So, taking her advice, the first pair I bought was an XL. They fit fine, although they are certainly not compression fit and they are actually a little loose in the waist. The next pair I got was a size large and I LOVE the fit. They are compression, although not uncomfortable or restrictive at all. Probably one of my favorite shorts, second only to the Sugoi RS shorts (awesome chammy in those). I'd say these are worth the $

Quite good but still looking for the better short

Based on Louis Garneau's website, the equipe short has the most comfy chamois from their line, which is why I made the purchase.

I've ridden 60 - 100 miles in them and they certainly hold up to the standard. The good quality lyrca material and slightly longer inseam offer good amount of muscle support as well as the additional protection if you crash.... The result is quite noticeable on a longer ride. However, I can still feel some numbness and pain from time to time after mile 50 which leads me wanting to try Neo Power short or Giordana's top line.

Sizing-wise, I dont find them running small - I am a size M across all the shorts I own and I wear size M in the Equipe Short. They do run tighter but I'd take it as the result of "racing fit" vs. "club fit".

Sizing for little girls

Sizing is ridiculously tiny. I am a size 6, and only the XL size of these shorts fit. They are very cute, though.

Responded on

Do you have any other Louis Garneau shorts/tights? I am a 6/8 and I have the journey knickers in a large and they fit perfectly. I'm wondering if I should get an XL since you sound like you are about the same size as me and they may run small.

Responded on

I agree that the sizing runs very small. I have a small in a pair of Campy racing shorts and they fit great. These shorts were so small(I ordered the L) that the purple side panels were see-through because the fabric was stretched so much. I'd have to order an Xl in these to even be comfy. After all, the merchandise on here is seconds quality, so you take your chances. The matching jersey runs large though, about a whole size.
