Description

Irritatingly comfortable and versatile.

It's cold and damp out. Jump on a bike with a rain jacket and in seconds you're soaked with sweat and freezing cold—don't expect this to happen when wearing the Louis Garneau Enerblock Cycling Jacket. EnerBlock fabric magically shuns the elements, and ditches moisture like climbers ditch sprinters in a mountain stage. Soft on the skin, TherMaxx retains heat while flatlock seams assure there will be no irritation on your ride—but we're not guaranteeing that... once the word gets out in your group about the generous cargo space, expect irritation in the form of others asking you to carry spare gear.

Cold outside? No problem

This is really a cross between a beefed-up riding jersey and a full-blown jacket -- and unless you're riding through the arctic tundra, that's a beautifully versatile thing. It keeps me warm and dry down to ~35 degrees and you don't really overheat until the mercury reaches the high 60s...which is about the time you start riding in a short sleeve jersey anyway.

One point to be aware of: the sleeves are long.

Is it a WaterProof jacket or water resistant.....Pacific NW question.
Thanks,

Responded on

Ed, This jacket is a soft shell, with windproof/water resistant panels on the front and more breathable thermal panels on the back. It will not provide full storm protection. Give us a call or st up a chat to discuss some wet-weather options.

Does this jacket have back pockets

Responded on

Hi,

If you're asking about three back pockets that cycling jerseys usually have, then yes. It also has a cool pocket near the right shoulder. Additionally, there are two zip pockets in the front.

I hope this helps.

Any Weather Jacket

This will keep you warm in the cold wet days in the saddle in the winter. Also looks really good with the red seems on the black jacket.

Louis Garneau Enerblock Jacket

This is a very nice jacket, and is suitable with minimal base layers for temperatures around 7 Celsius. You can probably wear it lower than that with a few layers under, and just an undershirt to about 15 Celsius.
I really like the jacket, it has a wind-proof front, and nice ventilation at the back. All the materials are nice and stretchy, but I think the Louis Garneau upper body wear sizes run much too big. I would usually ride a Medium Long Sleeved jacket, but I am wondering if I need a Small or Extra-Small for this item.
That is the only thing stopping this jacket being 5 stars. If it fit better, I would give it 5 stars. If you are going to buy it, it will be 5 stars if you size down one size!

Funny fit, over priced

Funny fit, a bit low quality given what they're asking for it. Why not make the bottom part of the sleeves fitted?

Andre

The jacket is water repellant; however it is also breathable with some of it's panels. It will keep you warm and dry on your ride, but if you want it to work like the Garneau Climate Grid or Clean Imper, it won't be the same.

If you are looking for full waterproof, go Climate Grid. If you want water repellant and improved thermal properties, this is what you need. This is a great jacket.

Let me know if you have more Q's!

Is this jacket suitable for 15f -35f degree cycling? If not what do you recomend that won't break the bank?

Thank you

The Enerblock is one of LG's best jackets and has a great price, but for the temps you are talking about, the Garneau Gemini are Massimo would be the way to go. Both offer great wind/water protection, but the Massimo is rated for slightly colder temps and has a tighter, next-to-skin, fit. Realcyclist carries both of these jackets.

More like a heavy jersey

This is a light weight jacket, and I would recommend it to most looking for a "heavy LS jersey". I hope this information helps.
