So you've decided to take the plunge into clipless pedals to get more power behind your pedal stroke. But where do you begin? Truly, the number of choices is overwhelming. The Look Keo Classic Road Pedal is an entry level clipless pedal featuring the same attention to detail as the rest of the Look pedal family without the dent-in-your-wallet price. 

Your first clipless pedals should offer easy of entry and exit. The last thing you want is to take a sideways spill at the stop light because the release tension is too high. The Keo Classic features a low release tension. The spring mechanism holds your cleat in with only 8-12Nm of force. To compare this to Look's higher end carbon race models, the Keo Blade, for example, secures with 12-15Nm of force. The lower tension of the Keo Classsic allows you to learn the fundamentals of clipping in and out, as the pedal will engage and disengage with ease.

In addition to the ease of use, the Keo Classic is constructed of composite alloy with a stainless steel axle. Contrary to belief, the alloy construction is not much heavier than carbon pedals -- 15 or so grams as compared to the Blade -- and, more importantly it reduces the cost over 60 percent from Look's carbon pedals. this makes them the perfect entry-level clipless pedal. The platform of the Keo Classic is wide and the heel features a low stack height to keep your feet comfortable on long rides.

The Classic comes with Grey Keo Grip cleats that allow 4.5 degrees of float. Please note that the look pedals are only compatible with Look cleats.
