The new classic.

The new Keo Classic 2 represents the latest in Look's family of road pedals, borrowing many of the same technical features as its pricier siblings, but in a more value-driven package. It's a system both entry-level riders and more seasoned cyclists alike will appreciate, as the proven Look reliability is ever-present, along with a blend of new materials designed to make the clipless system as seamless and user-friendly as possible.

Perhaps the biggest improvement to the Classic pedals comes in the form of the new supporting surface — commonly referred to as the "wear plate" or contact area in Look's other pedals. This is the area of the pedal where the interface between the cleat and the pedal occurs, and it's also the place where riders receive direct feedbeek and feel from their pedaling platform. Because of this, Look decided to apply a new dimpled composite material to this area, which delivers a consistent entry and exit, as well as added pedaling stability due to its large surface.

Look also targeted the new Classic pedal's axle. The diameter was increased to 12mm for increased stiffness. Additionally, Look kept the stack height to a low 17.5mm, which necessitated a roller bearing and a needle bearing on each of the pedal's durable steel spindles. In case there were any questions as to the reliability of this system, Look spindles are approved only after a rotational test of 2 million cycles at 100 rpm with a load of 90kg on the center of the pedal.

Similar to the proven Keo 2 Max pedals, the Classic 2s feature wide bodies made from a durable polyamide composite. The Q-Factor is 53mm, and it's able to be increased to 55mm with the use of a 2mm spacer that goes between the spindle and the crank (sold separately). The release tension is also able to be adjusted from 8-12Nm, which ensures smooth entry and release throughout the range. There are three float options for the cleats: fixed aka zero float (Black) cleats, 4.5-degrees float (Grey) cleats, and 9-degrees of float (White/red) cleats.

The Look Cycle Keo Classic 2 Pedals are available in the colors Black/grey and White/black. There is a two-year warranty on the pedals.

Solid Pedal not a lightweight though

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These pedals are great well built and simple to use. They were redesigned a little bit ago and Look made the platform wider and stiffer for more stability and power transfer. They are on the heavy side but unless you are going for the lightest weight and money is no object these will do fine for most riders.

Simple, No Nonsense

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Unless you're going for the lightest build possible, these pedals will suit all of your needs. They're easy to get in and out of. They have a few different float options for the cleats. And they have a nice wide, stiff platform for those that like that in a pedal.
They seem quite durable and well made...I think I'll get a lot of miles out of them.

First Pedals, great experience

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are my first pair of pedals and they have been working great, very functional for adjusting strength and fit very well.

I am trying to install these on a Shimano 105 crank arm (5800) and it looks like the threads don't match. Am I missing something?

Are you putting them on the right way? The left pedal spindle is reverse threaded, and the right side is normal. Hope that helps!

First Pedals

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These were my first pedals that I have purchased and I like them a lot! They're easy to get in and out of. They were a great price and a great product. I would recommend them to any beginning rider.
