Comin' or goin', don't gamble.

Sometimes it’s the taillight that saves you from disaster. Sometimes it's the headlight that illuminates that obstacle that otherwise would have bucked you off the bike. Don't gamble on either end, and pick up a solid combination like the Light & Motion Urban 650 Plus Vis Micro Combo Light Kit.

Using a flexible and durable mounting system, the Urban 650 can be placed on your handlebar or helmet, and it pops off easily when it’s time to lock up your bike. With 650 lumens, it slots just below the sun-like Urban 800 light in brightness, but it’s still an extremely visible system that employs many of the 800’s innovations, like amber-colored side lighting for 180 degrees of visibility, and a precisely engineered lens that evenly distributes its LED light over a field designed to help cyclists see both near and far while riding. The battery life indicator will let you know how long you can stay out, and the IP67 waterproof rating means the light can still function while submerged under one meter of water for up to 30 minutes, just in case your ride takes you to some strange new places.

Bringing up the rear is the small but mighty Vis Micro taillight. A custom-shaped, precision-manufactured lens casts the Micro's 25 lumens over a broad range, making it look and feel like a far brighter light, yet you still get up to 12 hours of run time. Engineers tuned the electronics to keep the LED array stays sharply visible right to the end of the battery's life, so it doesn't slowly start tapering off in brightness after only a few hours of use. Finally, the amber side lights promise 180 degrees of illumination, so the Micro does a big job of keeping you visible.

The Light & Motion Urban 650 Plus Vis Micro Combo Light Kit comes in one color set (Silver Moon), and both lights are rechargeable via USB.

  • High, medium, and low modes
  • 650 lumen maximum output (front)

Used for commuting

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this set for a 45 minute commute from home to school and other various rides around town. They are both very water-resistant (been through many FL rain storms)

The Urban 650 has a great beam and it's very easy to use and mount where needed. The battery indicator is a nice touch as well. My one gripe about it is the battery life. I charge it at least once every two days only getting ~ 1 1/2 hour charge on it without worrying if i'll be left on the road at night without a front light.

The Vis Micro has done very well also. sometimes I go a week without having to charge it. It isn't the brightest option and should probably be used for short rides. I will most likely be purchasing a brighter rear light and keep this as a spare.

Overall great set of lights but would suggest another front light as a back-up

does the usb hook to the front and rear light ?

Gotta have a good light.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I ride to work in the dark, and home in the dark. I feel safer having a good high power front and rear light. The front light is BRIGHT. It works great, and you can switch to lower settings if you feel it's too much. The rear light has side visibility, so you're more likely to be seen by cars coming at you from the side. I recommend it.

First night i got these I rode around 100 miles and half was in the dark. You can see exceptionally and be seen exceptionally. I would highly recommend these for anyone out in the dark. They are simple to mount and do exactly what I wanted them to do.
