A present classic to preserve the future classic.

You know why this is called the Classic Floor Drive Pump. Lezyne has took its high pressure (aka road) design and built one up that strongly resembles the Silca Pista of old. Wood handle, steel barrel, steel piston, are all taken out of Silca's playbook.

But Lezyne also takes from its own playbook. The CNC-machined aluminum base, 2.5-inch oversized gauge, the 43-inch rubber hose, and the Flip and Speed Chucks.

The gauge reads to 160psi. The Flip Chuck is Lezyne's reversible Schrader/Presta valve head with a button for bleeding air. That button is called the ABS, Air Bleed System. The Speed Chuck is a great add-on for people who prefer slip-on pump chucks. It also sports a 90-degree angle, so it can fit in the valve port of disc wheels.

The Lezyne Classic Floor Dive Pump measures 5.9 x 7.9 x 25in (15 x 20 x 63.5 cm). The handle is 9.5in. The interior diameter of the barrel is 28mm, which means the pump has been optimized for high pressure applications. It has a claimed weight of 3.75lbs (1.7kg). The colors are Red and Silver.

  • Varnished wood handle and smooth, CNC-machined alloy are built for the rigors of a lifetime of use
  • Two-and-a-half-inch oversized pressure gauge remains easy to view, no matter how bad your eyes get

Great pump

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use this pump daily on my road wheels. It has a stable base and easy to read gauge. It is a high pressure pump and delivers quick fill ups before regular rides. Like most things that Lezyne makes, it looks good and the quality seems to match the looks. The pump securely fits to the valve, not allowing for any accidental pressure leaking. The pump easily switches to suit your valve needs and comes with other general pump attachments, that I have yet to use. If I experience any ill effects, I'll update the post.

Not feeling the love.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had my Lezyne Classic pump for well over a year now. I love the classic look it has and the wooden handle. It's a great pump when it works, but the o-rings in the speed chuck need to be replaced often. With new o-rings it's very difficult to get on valve stem and that much harder to put on valve extenders. I bought the slip chuck thinking it would work better, but it too has its challenges. Also, I've had to alternate the o-rings from the plunger to keep compression during strokes. I'm on the last one and in need of new o-rings, but cannot find them locally. Have emailed Lezyne twice now and have had no response from them, pretty disappointing. I'm glad to see they have the dual valve pump head, but at this point I’m reluctant to purchase it since I can't find replacement o-rings for the plunger. If I had it to do all over again, I would have purchased a Specialized floor pump. The Lezyne pump seems to require too much maintenance.

Not feeling the hype

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Using this, I'm not sure why folks think it is great, it is maybe good, but not great to me, this is what I've noticed. (1) The dial is black on silver -- this is not a very good contrast, I've seen much better with other pumps. (2) The hose clip discussed is at the base of the pump, you have to pick up the pump or lean over to clip the hose end in there. Some pumps have the clip near the top. Sure, not the same methodology, but very simple, and does the job. (3) Stability - the feet are not as stable as I would expect for a pump this tall. (4) Serviceability - the top screwcap requires a special tool. This could be done with a knurled design, or other design that would not require a tool. (5) Okay this is not included, but I'll mention it. The Dual Valve Pump Head. I got one for this pump, as I like those style pump heads, and if you have child bikes, you may like the flexibility of going between Presta and Schrader valves without any configuration changes, even if they are easy. The Lezyne Dual Valve Pump head is nice in that it utilizes the pump's base as a clip, but the pump head is very stubby and short, making it harder to manipulate. (6) The handle - it is a wooden handle, no big deal, really. It's not more comfortable, to me, than many other pumps. Many of my comparisons were made against my Specialized pump. It is super stable, has a more visible gauge dial, the pump handle is more comfortable, the pump handle can be removed using the knurled fastener, the hose clip is at the top of the pump, and the pump head is larger for easier handling.

Simply Perfect

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Lezyne gets back to the basisc with a simple, smooth, reliable and long last pump. No bells and whistles here, just a sturdy pump that gets the job done.

perfect pump for the hardcore unicyclist

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been dreaming of getting one of these floor pumps for a while and finally pulled the trigger!

It's a pricey floor pump, but it's gorgeous looking and pumps like a champ.
I love Lezyne's flip chuck. It screws onto any schrader or presta valve without worries of cross threading or letting all of your hard pumped air out.

These also come with a needle, so I can keep my basket ball inflated and show my girlfriend who boss is around here.
(just kidding, she's 5'11 and was on the varsity team).

This 2.8x57cm shaft is no two pump chump!
If you're serious about inflating that tube to go float the river, or have a ton of beach balls that you want to blow up, your search ends here.

Pumping Master

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is my first floor pump, compared to others that I have used through friends I must say that my house may turn into the new fill up station because this pump rocks. The wood handles are absolutely fantastic and the pump in general is high quality. The hose is a good length. You can use this on both Presta and Schraeder valves.

Business end.

This is the presta end of the chuck. Look closely and you can see external and internal o-rings, as well as the threads inside...

Hose clips to base. Neat.

The hose clips into the base to keep things neat and tidy. Really nice feature.

Look at the hose. Just look at it.

Note the hose length. You can have your bike up on a repair stand and still inflate the tires. Really helpful!

Chuck detail

Chuck detail

Here's a side view of the flip chuck. Once you use it, you won't want anything else.

-- small black dot bleeds air from the pump's hose, easing release

-- big black dot bleeds air from the tire (it's on the other side, not pictured.

-- chuck screws on both presta and schraeder valves

-- unscrew the chuck from the hose and flip it in five seconds to change valve types. Super easy.

-- Chuck is labeled for different valves so newbies can use your pump without ruining it or their stems

Lezyne Pumps = Best

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Use it once and you'll understand why these pumps command -- and deserve -- the premium price.

The flip chuck screws on to the valve stems of your tubes --meaning a positive, leak free seal with no air lost during connection and disconnection. Once you use this type of chuck, you'll never go back.

The pressure gauge is hard to read at a distance, and mine comes about 10 heavier than actual pressure. But those are nits in an otherwise fantastic pump. Look no further.

Adding to the value: the pump is solidly built, with quality materials... and it looks great too.

Great pump

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Finally broke down and bought a pump. easy to dismiss the value when you have an air compressor in the garage. Compared to most pumps I've used the flip chuck makes inflating tires to the correct pressure a breeze, no more fumbling trying to flip the lever on an air chuck and remove quickly without loosing air.

Be carefull and remember there is a pressure relief for the hose before trying to remove the flip chuck. only a problem with removable valve cores. only did it twice before figuring out what I had done.

I've been stuck with hand pumps all summer so it's a relief to finally have a proper floor pump to efficiently fill my mountain bike's tires. The pump looks great (I love the wood handle) and is well constructed. The screw-able Flip Chuck valve head supports both Schrader and Presta. It's worth the extra time for the seal it provides. If that's not your style, the Speed Chuck attachment replicates slip-on functionality, adds a right angle, is quick, and works well. As mentioned by others, the gauge goes up to 160 psi, even if hard to read from a distance. All around great pump, nothing to complain about over here.

Great Pump

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This guy does everything I wanted it to and then some. The screw on tip, though a bit more time consuming, is really awesome and really dials in specific PSI's. Pumps up real high, and comes with different tip attachments for presta and shrader valves. Super sweet looking and so far good and durable too.

Lezyne Classic Drive Floor Pump

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Fantastic quality and accurate (compared to an older gauge). It looks good and works. Not more I can ask for.

Lezyne's a classic

This is a great pump! I love how it actually screws on to the Presta valves. When putting in the 120-140 PSI it creates a great seal and makes sure that the air goes straight into the tube. It also prevents the valve from being bent. Very efficient and well made pump.

Wood Grain Grippin'

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Inflates my tires to 140psi, build quality is solid (esp. the aluminum base), and the wood grain handle is flossy. SO FLOSSY! Attaching the pump valve to the tire valve is more time consuming than your average pump, but the fit is also more secure... So none of your precious psis will escape when you detach. Speed chuck is included for quick attach/detach (for those in a hurry). Overall, this is the nicest floor pump I've used or owned.

Really nice pump

The nicest thing about this pump is it just works great. The connection on presta valves is simple and works without bending the valves like the clamp on style. Additionally this pump just looks sharp nice base and great finish ( mines black), along with the dark wood handle, it really just looks nice. I've only had it a couple of days but I deflated and re-inflated tires about 10 times just to test it, and it works as advertised. I'll re-submit if it doesn't last but just looking at the workmanship and attention to detail I don't anticipate any issues. I forgot to mention the hose is nice an long so I can inflate the tires even after I put them on the car rack

Solid construction, hoping for long life

I'm coming off a Topeak pump that last almost ten years. This Lezyne is much better constructed with high quality parts and a nice hefty feel. The Flip Chuck is a great easy to use feature that comes in really handy when you have a lot of bikes - I skip the speed chuck but it worked just fine the few days I had it on there. The dial is a little hard to read all the way down on the floor with tiny letters, but a paint pen mark on the preferred setting sis the way to go anyway. Moves a high volume of air and gets tires ready to roll in a hurry - even the 2.35 wide guys!
