Classic American styling for the saddle.

Similar to the 501, the Men's Trucker Jacket has become synonymous with the Levi's label over the years. It has evolved significantly from the jacket once worn by the big rig drivers who helped solidify its place in the Levi's archive, and today it continues to serve those on the move. The Commuter Trucker Jacket was designed specifically for an urban cyclist's needs, all while maintaining the classic Americana style embodied by all things Levi's. This version features several design updates from the previous Commuter Trucker, most notably in the form of pocket placement, button closures, and a modified fit.

The Levi's Commuter Series Trucker Jacket was designed with feedback from cyclists in urban centers across the US. Rather than just produce a run of the mill cycling jacket, Levi's constructed a jacket with the fit, durability, and accoutrements that you'd expect from a cycling-specific company. First, it features a stretch denim fabric for ease of movement while riding. Levi's treated the fabric with a water-resistant and dirt-repellent NanoSphere protective finish to make commuting in hostile weather a little more tolerable.

Levi's also gave the Trucker a cycling-specific cut. What does this mean? To start, the rear hem was elongated in order to provide additional coverage while you're stretched out over the bars. Additionally, the arms were lengthened for the same reason. Levi's has also cut the pattern of the Trucker on a slight contour with built-in stretch panels running parallel with the torso. Additionally, you'll find specific features for cycling like a large flapped vent across the back panel so that you don't overheat. For this version, Levi's designed the Trucker without side hem adjustment buttons, favoring a clean drop-tail design instead.

For storage on your rides, this Trucker features a rear zip pocket, two hidden-snap chest pockets, and two hand pockets. This jacket also features a zip-out hood and tall collar, making it ideal for those variable-weather commutes. Levi's also modified the jacket's closure, opting for snaps instead of the traditional button variety. This ensures simple ventilation adjustments while in the saddle without having to fumble with a more tedious closure system. The jacket was finished off with reflective accents at the shoulders as well as hook-and-loop closures at the cuffs.

Great look and function

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times
  • Fit:Runs small

The cycling specific features of this jacket are nicely integrated into its overall style. My only complaint is that it does not have an inside pocket.

It runs a size small.

Favorite jacket

Recommended, but with disclaimers.

Great jacket, love all of the technical details. Definitely recommend getting one size up if you plan to actually snap it closed. Otherwise, you (like me) might prefer your normal size for a more tailored fit and stylish look with it always unbuttoned. The stitching inside of the sleeves needs improvement. The nylon stitching of the seams is abrasive, especially if elbows are bent such that those taut stitches are pressed or scraped across your elbow. Ouch. A sort of serger type of stitching could have been used to address this. Strange that a serger type of stitching was used on other parts of the jacket's interior, but not inside of the sleeves. I fixed this issue by adding some cheap Dritz iron-on mending fabric over the stitches in the elbow areas.

Slick Jacket

This jacket is sick! I bought it to commute on my motorcycle and enjoy it so far. I've worn it on a 300 mile ride, it protected me from the elements and kept me comfortable. It does run a little small though, I typically wear a medium in most things and the medium is good looking on my but tight enough that buttoning it up feels a little constrictive.
