Description

Express yourself.

No matter where you live, night riding equates to two things -- cool weather and commuting. However, every ride has to end somewhere. And if you've worn your fluo cycling jacket off of the bike, whether it be at a pub, the market, or a show, you've surely felt the scorn of wary dagger eyes. But, with the Levi's Commuter Parka, there's no need for an introspective reevaluation of your life choices. Instead, you're able to express your sense of style while remaining comfortable in the saddle.

For the Commuter Parka's construction, Levi's incorporated its own lightweight, 5.5-ounce twill fabric. This material is non-denim, and features a blended composition of cotton, nylon, and elastane. As a result, the material gains a good deal of stretch, while also becoming quite efficient at managing moisture. In fact, it's easy to approach this blend as three separate fibers that are working towards the same objective.

The cotton provides the moisture absorbency necessary of cycling. Essentially, it pulls perspiration away from the skin, and transports it to the outer nylon fibers. Afterwards, the nylon fibers quickly evaporate the moisture, leaving you dry and at a consistent temperature. And, as for the elastane, this fiber creates the four-way stretch of the Parka that allows you to move freely in the saddle.

So, clever compositions aside, Levi's also gave the Parka a cycling-specific cut. What does this mean? To start, the rear hem has been elongated in order to provide additional coverage while you're stretched out over the bars. Additionally, the arms have been lengthened for the same reason. Levi's has also created the pattern of the Parka on a slight contour with built-in stretch panels running parallel with the torso. You'll also find specific accoutrements for cycling like a large flapped-vent across the back panel, and a billed hood for wet weather.

For storage on your rides, the Parka features a large zippered rear pocket, two chest pockets, and two hand pockets. And to increase your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions, Levi's also included reflective accents throughout the Parka's construction.

The Levi's Commuter Parka is available in four sizes from Small to X-Large and in the colors Black, Coral, and Green.

great jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this jacket because I needed something on my rides but I also needed something that I could wear off the bike as well ,and I did not want to bring two different jackets, this jacket does both. It fits well, has no problem on or off the bike it is breathable does well in the rain, and does not look bad, my only problem is that the zipper is sometimes hard to work, not terrible but does take some time to seat properly. I still think that it is a great product at a great price.
