Whether you prefer to hide from the cold, or the shortened days have you scrambling to fit in a few more hours of riding, indoor trainers are a staple for maintaining winter fitness. The LeMond Revolution 1.0 and 1.1 trainers are designed just for these sessions, and, with the addition of the Watt Box, you're now able to make every indoor minute count toward next year's goals and record every second of your training. No more excuses.
The Watt Box is essentially the next generation of the original Power Pilot. Although the Power Pilot measured wattage, cadence, and was even compatible with heart rate straps, the metrics were recorded to the external Power Pilot head unit. The information then needed to be downloaded via a USB stick before it could be added to your training log. The Watt Box functions as a singular point of data gathering. Much like other power measuring devices, it is ANT+ compatible, which means that it transmits data directly to the ANT+ display of your choice.
When using a Garmin head unit, you will not be able to see all metrics simultaneously unless you go into "bike settings" and disable the "combo S/C sensor." If you have separate speeds and cadence sensors then everything should display correctly without any adjustments. Additionally, please note that you may need to pair the sensor and calibrate it before you first use it. And just be sure you reset your "bike settings" before you head back outside to ride.
