Don't settle for sore feet.

The Lake MX237 Shoes may be built to maximize efficiency, but a host of thoughtful features make them far more comfortable than their race-bred heritage might lead you to believe. Sure, Lake’s extensive experience helps it to channel every last watt to your pedals, but the dual Boa closure gives you tons of fine tuning, and the full grain leather upper breaks in like your favorite leather slippers. Granted, you probably won’t want to wear them around the house, but when you’re dropping the hammer, they’re a much better option.

The key to the MX237s' power transfer lies in Lake’s Competition last. Like the moldable CFC last used in the MX331, the Competition last is designed to focus your power output into the ball of your foot, and straight through to the pedal. And while efficiency is key, there’s added room in the toe box to allow for foot expansion under hard efforts. And it all rests on Lake’s stiff Race carbon fiber sole. The result is a comfortable fit, packaged in a highly efficient shoe.

The dual Boa closure has been quickly adopted by the professional ranks due to the fact that it offers easy fine-tuning, and it stays tight throughout your entire ride. And since you’re able to independently adjust tension on the forefoot and the heel, you can lock down your heel, without having to over-tighten the rest of the shoe. And as you probably know, that means better bloodflow and greater comfort. The Boa closure runs underneath the full grain leather upper, enhanced with mesh panels to maximize foot-cooling airflow.

The Lake MX237 Shoes - Men's are available in whole and half sizes, from 39 to 47, plus whole sizes 48 and 50, and in the colors Black/black and Orange/black. All sizes from 40 up are available in Wide in the color Black/black.

  • Full grain leather uppers mold to your foot over time
  • Race Carbon sole
  • Competition last
  • Dual-boa closure
  • Two-hole cleat compatibility

Here's what others have to say...

My favorite mtb shoe!!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:Runs large

I've tried em all and for me these are the best quality, comfort, fit and look I've ever worn. I used to go for snug fit and wondered why at the end of a ride my toes were numb and hurting. I have a narrow foot and wear a size 11 USA and the 45 in the Lake feels a tiny bit roomy in the toe area when I start, but it's so nice after a few hours having room. The boa system doesn't allow the fit to be sloppy. I love the orange and am about to get some black for the days my kit has lots or red in it. Orange and red doesn't work for me. Great shoe!!

Good quality

The boa system provides a great fit although I find myself re adjusting mid ride and occasionally one of the boa dials does pop up and lose tension. I've had other boa shoes that do not have this problem, no idea if it's my riding or inherent to the shoe. I use these as a daily ride shoe and my first experience with leather. That being said I find the leather does stretch and has become very comfortable, custom almost but as with leather it does scuff, large and small, kinda expected. Color is awesome, sole is awesome and stiff, tread on bottom is robust enough for hiking up small sections of trail. I had to size down considerably, I usually ride a 45.5 or 45, 10.5- 11 and ended up with a 44, a little tight but has stretched. I had sworks before and got 2 1/2 yrs before they were unrideable, I expect 2 out of these. Weight is not feather light but light enough, doesn't feel bulky on the foot. I have a narrow foot and bought the regular, fits fine.

I just purchased these. excellent quality and fit. I'm a 10.5, however, I felt the 44.5 a bit snug in length, so went with the 45. I had some heel lift minor with the 45, but considering the foot swell during long rides, I figured the 45 made more sense.

Great Shoes

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

Not the lightest out there, but have good tread for that occasional hike a bike. Love the boa closure, but couldn't get them snug enough out of the box. Purchased a thicker footbed and that did the trick. Mostly ride AM with some XC racing mixed in, great for both! Size 10.5 street shoe and purchased a 44.5.

Love 'em

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I've been having the hardest time finding mountain shoes but these may be what I've been looking for all this time. They're stiff and so comfy. At first when I put them on, the tow box and forefoot felt a little wide. Don't worry about that. Ride in them for 3 hours and you'll see that your dogs are comfy and happy.

I'm a size 14 street shoe and wear a 48 in these. They're pretty close to perfect.

What other shoes have you worn in the past? Did you get the regular size or the wide?

Specialized, Shimano, Mavic, DMT...

I got the regular.

Unanswered Question

I have a pair of dmt lynx in a 43, and they are pretty darn tight. Would a 43.5 in these be looser, or should I go with a 44?

Does the Orange comes in Wide?

Best Answer

Hey Luisma,

The Orange is offered in a wide last, however we currently do not have any of the wide last in stock in the Orange color.

Oops

  • Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
  • Fit:True to size

Looks like Lake's quality assurance department forgot to put the final stamp of approval on the shoes I received. The closure system was not sewn in to the leather and when I tried them on for the first time, the mechanism just pulled out. I don't know how to attach a second photo to this review, but the other shoe is fine, so it's definitely a flaw. Otherwise, the fit is good.

Awesome shoe

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:True to size

I've used these a ton. They're great. They fit snugly which I'm a big fan of. The color is great and vibrant. They've held up well during mountain bike season. Really like the locking mechanism that they used in place of laces.

Big Feet Friendly

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have a very wide foot, these shoes are fantastic! I have gone through 3 other brands; sidi mega, specialized wide, and northwave. None of them have fit as well as these do. Will definitely be buying them again

Did you get the wide version or the regular version?

Sorry guys, I got the wide version! Tried Sidi, Northwave, Specialized, and Giro. These are hands down the best fitting shoes i've ever owned
