Kreitler Killer Kool Headwind Fan $0.00
A strong head wind can be a beast on the road, or a beauty in your basement.
Ah, what a great feeling to have the wind blowing in your face as you ride…on your trainer…in your basement. The Kreitler Killer Kool Headwind Fan adds adjustable resistance to your Kreitler Training Station, as well as a cooling breeze to your head and body. A broad range of resistance creates the right workout for easy cruisers and the strongest riders alike. A nice breeze cools you down and makes workouts more enjoyable, but if you start to feel like you're getting blown away just turn the fan away from you and ride 'til you can't ride no more.

This thing blows. Makes it very difficult to pedal in the low twenties. Similar to riding in a headwind with road resistance. Good way to work on Rule V.

Does anyone know if this resistance unit can be used on cycleops rollers?
A must for anyone with Kreitlers
Wind output is incredible, and the resistance is out of this world. With the flap all the way open, even with 4.5 inch rollers, you'll never run out of gears. I can do steady state 400 watt intervals with this thing and never get out of my 38 ring. The amount of air it spits at you will keep you cool, even through your hardest workouts. Resistance feels exactly like the road. With the amount of CFM's it puts out, if your watching TV, your going to have to up the volume. One thing to note, is if your putting out too much power and the flap is barely open, the flap will make a loud rattling sound. Just open the flap up a bit, and you'll be fine.

So does is this little fan very noisy? The CFM at different RPM ranges for the fan would be interesting.
I have an older one. It is much louder then rollers alone, but its not horrible. Doing high intensity efforts make it so you have to crank up the TV, but if you just ride with an iPod or something, you don't have to turn the volume up to much.
Not too noisy at all except when you really crank out the power at 100rpm in 38x12. The present Killer headwind has resistance very similar to the road at the same revs. and gears. In large chain ring you won't be able to push higher than 53x15 unless you are national team material.
