Works great on my dura ace 11 speed

I used to run 10 speed kmc and it was a let down going back to shimano when I upgraded to 11 speed. The KMC shifts just as good if not better the the shimano chain, is quieter in general use and has cured the horrible sound the shimano chain made on the rear cassette during hard climbing efforts. The other advantage is you can remove the chain to properly clean the drive chain. I weight just under 190 and ride about 200 miles a week and uses Dumound lube.
Noisier, Not as Strong
I like to remove my chain to clean it thoroughly, so I thought I'd switch my Campy chain for a KMC 11SL, mainly for ease of removal/reinstallation, and a little weight reduction never hurt (claimed 228g @112 links). The cleaning I wanted was all well and good, but I was surprised to find, or, hear a noticeable difference. The KMC chain made a lot more noise, and was a lot less smooth, even after neurotic amounts derailleur adjustments. The Campy chain ran like butter.
Second, and more significant, the KMC chain has been the only chain in my 5 year road riding history (meager, I know, but still!) that has broken while on a ride. I weigh in at 145 pounds in the off season, and the only guys I witnessed break chains were 180+ pound, big legged sprinters. Not this time. I was, however, doing a seated, 5 second max power test on a 6% grade at the time of the break. Still, this is nowhere near the punishment my Campy chain had taken. I switched chains about 8 month ago, and the KMC has seen several thousand miles since then.
The point of breakage happened, not at the "missing link", but the outer plate of a regular link. The plate had separated from the pin during the initial break, then the chain fully broke loose and separated as I continued to pedal. No warranty for KMC chains. Boo.
