John, "god of all things MTB" Tomac designed this series of tires and named it after a famed course in Italy where he romped on his competition. The raison d'etre of the tire is to ride well in the loose, the hard, and everything in between. The Kenda Nevegal UST Tire fulfills this mission completely. We find the Nevegal to be the best tire in wet, rooted, and rocky conditions.

The 2.35" version uses Kenda's DTC (Dual Tread Compound). It has their Stick-E compound on the shoulders for excellent steep-lean traction. This is a super soft rubber that yields great grip, and the slow-rebound nature of this famed tree-sap solid acts as a suspension element. A harder, longer-wearing rubber is used down the center. The 2.1 " tires use the same firmer rubber compound over the entirety of the tread. This gives them a durability that cross-country/trail riders will appreciate. Using a fluid-based sealant product in any Kenda tire will void the warranty.

The Kenda Nevegal UST tire is offered in 2.1" and 2.35" widths. Both sizes use a Kevlar bead for weight savings. 880g (2.1).

Favorite all time front tire

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I experiment with a few different tires each year and on the front I keep coming back to the UST Kenda Nevegal 2.35. It's the most dependable tubless tire, amazing traction in most terrain, and it never burps or looses air. Other tires I've tried running up front like the Nobby Nic have too weak of a sidewall and when things get aggressive they burp air, and even come off the rim, which as caused a few over the bars crashes and a moderate shoulder injury. Put a UST Nevegal up front on my bike any day of the week!!

These tires are awesome. They provide tons of grip in many different conditions from mud to scree and rocks. The rubber on the tires is awesome and wears well over time. The price is right for these tires and is part of the reason I see so many people on the trails with them. Cornering is steady and controlled. Braking is responsive and they dig in when you need them to. I have this on my dirt jumper as well and it works well and they provide a smoorh roll and plenty of cushion if you case a jump. All and all this is a killer tire for the price.

    My favorite tires!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Ive used these in various widths on various bikes throughout the years. They are always my go-to tire here in Colorado. Great tread for loose granite and rocky conditions, but still keeps rolling resistance down. These never feel sketchy in the corners and offer great traction on climbs as well. I definitely recommend the 2.35 version unless you're doing strictly XC. Also, no problems at all with the tubeless system on Stans rims and Mavic XM819 rims.

    A great tire!!!

This tire has everything!!!! It is tough and grippy. It is built to last. I rode it a ton off road and had to even ride it some on road for about about 2 months. These tires stood up to the wear and tear. Hardly showing any signs of wear. I wouldn't however recommend riding these babes on the road because you will be working extra hard due to all the tread these things have:)

    Great tire

One of my favorite tires for the last few years. Very versatile, works great in a lot of situations, wears well, rolls pretty fast, and is all around pretty predictable. I recommend the 2.35 size with DTC for pretty much everyone, a wider tire will be more fun to ride, plus the DTC gives you much better cornering with the stick-e rubber on the side knobs and still rolling fast with the harder compound in the center.

    Great All-Around Tires

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

i rode the 2.35s for a long time until i had left side knobs all over the place (these tires really took a beating before sheding knobs). i think they provide a great mix of durability, traction, and rolling resistance. i would say if your flavor of rad involves a little more gravity and you got a couple extra bucks, you'd be happier on some hans dampfs or trail kings.

I friend recommended I get these tires and I'm happy I did. I was using older no name bike tires before these and I can definitely tell a difference. These are great!

Look good but haven't used them yet

I have the Kenda Nevegal UST tires sitting around as spares but haven't needed them at this point. They look like a solid tire. I have used the non UST version before and had issues with ripping knobs off and showing the casing on them. I have a friend that assures me this will not be the case with the UST. These have a 120 TPI instead of the 60 on the non UST version so I'm hoping they work out. I'll report back once I get these on.
