Kask Mojito Helmet

Quality & Fit

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

Have had the Mojito a couple of weeks, purchased large (on line) have always purchased medium in store, this was the right size for this helmet. With cold weather almost here I have room for scull cap. Love the leather chin strap. Not sure what I'm doing right but my prescription sun glass fit perfectly.

Cute and comfortable but....

not functional. I like this helmet, it fit well and was very comfortable but like others have said, the back of the helmet prevented me from being able to wear my sunglasses. The glasses fell off my nose. Too bad cause like the title said, the helmet is cute and comfortable, just not functional if you wear glasses to protect your eyes.

my favorite helmet

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wear a size medium in Giro and Louis Garneau helmets and a size large in Lazer so for the Kask Mojito I tried on both a medium and a large. It turns out that the large is a much better fit in Kask. I can fit into a medium but it looked too small on my head. Also, in the large I’m able to wear a cycling cap underneath it which I appreciate during the winter. The plush padding on the Mojito is a step up from other helmets I’ve worn (the LG Course helmet, Giro Atmos, and Lazer Genesis). The padding on the Mojito is thick, soft and appears more durable. In spite of the plush padding the Mojito sits lower on my head than any other helmet I’ve worn. I love the way it looks. I also like the straps on the Mojito. The chin strap is leather and the rest of the strap is a thicker and sturdier than the fabric used in other helmets. That might be part of the reason that the strap lays flat and comfortably around my ears. That’s an issue with my Atmos. The helmet is as light if not lighter than the LG Course and the Giro Atmos and definitely lighter than the Lazer Genesis. Ventilation is fantastic. I’ve been wearing it during the unbearably hot summer of Fort Myers, Florida and it cools as much as any helmet can. Last but not least, my Oakley Radars lock in tightly. I got this helmet on sale for $150 and at that price it’s a steal. It’s well worth the $200 it often sells for.

Great fit, quality parts. This is the first helmet I've owned that has allowed me to wear a cap under it. Most other manufacturers stop at large, but Kask really did a great job with fitment.

Won't work for me and my Oakley's

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

Helmet felt great until I tried to put my Oakley Flak Jackets on. The retention system wraps around your head so much to prevent the sunglasses arms from sitting against your head. I could have put the arms on top of the retention system, but then the sunglasses were very loose on my head and felt like they would fall off. Or I could have put the arms under, but I could tell that would become very uncomfortable after a while. Shame too, because it's such a sharp looking helmet.

Saved My Big Noggin

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I overcooked a turn down a winding canyon road (in Colorado), slid across the asphalt road and gravel, and ended up at a concrete culvert going over a mountain creek, hitting my head. Given that head injuries are the major cause of cycling fatalities, I say the Kask Mojito saved my life. That very day I bought a replacement.

Great light and small

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I had a GIRO Savant MIPS and was really satisfied with that helmet. The size adjustment screw broke and GIRO response was buy a new one. I repaired the helmet but it seemed to not be 100% fixed. Upon the wife's urging to get a new helmet I checked out the KASK Mojito and I am GLAD I did. This helmet weighs 275 (Medium) and feels great on my head. I really like the chin strap. It stays it and does not loosen like many other helmets. I purchased the USA flag version of this helmet and am very happy with my decision. If you are looking for a lightweight, comfortable helmet this is it.

Worth It!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Before this the most expensive helmet I had was $20. Wow! What a difference this on makes, does not even feel like I am wearing one and the wind blows through it, also, like I am not wearing one. Very comfortable, the adjustments and replaceable Velcro padding is a great. Kask has a new lifetime customer!

Thanks for the awesome review, Robert! glad the helmet is working out well for you.

Can you please tell me the exact sizing for the Mojito is size small? The Kask website does not state there is a size small (only medium and large). Thanks!

Kelly, The small Kask Mojito fits 48 - 58cm | 6 - 7-1/4 Hat Size | 18-7/8 22-7/8 inches. If you have any question about gear in the future, feel free to reach out to me directly. Best wishes, Joe

if it fits...

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

The pros: great looking and nice fitting helmet. runs true to size. love the design and feel.

The not so goods: This helmet is heavy for the price. Replacing a cheap-o ($40), 7 year old Giro and this helmet is about the same weight, if not heavier.

The front ear strap ran over my front ear lobe no matter how the helmet or strap slider was adjusted. this would have rubbed/chaffed on a ride. Giro helmets (same size) all fit me fine without this issue.

Smith Pivlock V2 lenses fit nicely under the front of helmet, but the arms of the glasses rest on the rear plastic adjustor of the helmet. there was no way to avoid this and I suspect others have this issue. Not a huge deal, but i'd prefer my glasses to rest on my head, not a piece of the helmet.

Fantastico!

Can't feel it while your suffering. Doesn't make you look like Toad from Mario Bros.
sz L, wear a 7 1/4 in New Era baseball fitted caps.
I'd buy another in a heartbeat....even at full price.

Toad.....love it. Big tall head also.....Looks great.

2nd one

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm writing my review on the purchase of my 2nd one. There is only 1 real reason to order a 2nd one, and the fact that I'm ordering the same one should speak worlds! Split like its supposed to and protected the nugget. When riding super comfortable and plenty of air.
