The K-Edge Double Cross Chain Catcher is made specifically for cyclocross bikes with double chainrings. It is comprised of two lightweight CNC machined components -- a tidy clamp for the seat tube, and a triangular guide plate that mounts on the clamp. The guide plate has a slotted stem with 12mm of lateral adjustability that can accommodate any brand of drivetrain along with some variation of the chainline. The Cross Double works with double chainring systems and prevents the chain from being thrown inward of the small ring due to shifts in the heat of battle on bumpy racecourses.

K-Edge builds the Cross Double Chain Catcher with 6061 T6 aluminum so it's super sturdy even though it's quite light. The clamp is anodized Black and the guide plate is Gunmetal. It is available in two clamp diameters -- 31.8mm and 34.9mm.

Works great

    Mounted on an old road bike I converted into a flat-bar, dirt road cruiser. Had plenty of issues with chain drop until I installed this simple little bit. Took all of five minutes to mount and align, and haven't had a chain drop since. Boom!



      Always thought this was for folks who never set the front derailleur limit screw carefully, until my chain (and I) fell off in a hill climb race. Got one. Tis beautifully made and easy to put on. I have put rubber solution (puncture repair type stuff on the bolts to prevent em from vibrating loose. A squirt of WD4o aids removal.


      Looking at taking my SRAM Force to a single...

      Looking at taking my SRAM Force to a single ring up front. Thinking of Salsa 42t BCD ring & guard. Going on a 2009 Ridley X-Fire. Not sure what "double" refers to, but at this price, it's worth asking: in the described configuration, will this work?

      You want the single if you are going single ring. The single has a little notch on the top that goes over your chain not allowing it to pop off. Pair it with a K-edge guard and you are money. I am running the exact same scenario right now, salsa 42 tooth, k-edge 42 tooth guard and this Single guard. Its the best option out there. I ran double guards last year and this option is lighter, better looking and works way better. Its the bees knees.

      Thanks - after further research, that's exactly the inner guard I ended up with. Went with the Salsa outer guard (44) and it's perfect for the 42 chainring. I think it will protect the chain & ring better if I should get high centered on a log/rock/barrier.
