Time to shred.

If your ideal ride involves chasing adrenaline down big drops and powering through epic trails at speed, the 2016 Juliana Roubion 2.0 Carbon CC Mountain Bike Frame is right up your alley. This bike lives for rough terrain and big air, while its lightweight construction and neutral geometry make it no slouch on the climbs. Considering its original intent to be the ultimate enduro race sled, the Roubion's versatility is far from surprising.

It's no secret that we love the Roubion, and it's fairly easy to see why. First, responsive handling and fast rolling speed have made 27.5in wheels the default choice for riders who push it. The Roubion's 150mm of rear wheel travel is primed to smooth out harsh trails, while the VPP suspension platform lends efficient pedaling on the climbs.

For 2016, Juliana updates the suspension links with the top link directly mounted on the top tube and the lower link tucked neatly out of the way to increase stiffness and durability while also smoothing the ride. The head angle has also been adjusted from 67 to 66 degrees, which sounds like a tiny change, but it provides even more high-speed stability than the previous version. At 17.05in, the chainstays are long enough to keep you centered on the bike, yet short enough to allow the Roubion to carve up turns with ease.

Both the front and rear triangles are constructed as a whole, rather than bonded together from separate sub-assemblies. In addition to saving weight, this ensures that the Roubion is as strong as possible because the fibers are uninterrupted by seams, a common issue with other construction methods.

If you were to cut it in half, you'd find that the inside of the tubes have the same perfectly smooth finish as the outside, which is a result of construction techniques that maximize the compaction of the layers. The benefit is that it's lighter, because any excess epoxy is squeezed from the frame prior to curing, and this ideal degree of compaction optimizes the strength. Juliana further enhances the strength and stiffness with mechanic-friendly, oversized 15mm collet-style hardware and a 12x148mm Boost thru-axle out back.
