Nevis R Complete Mountain Bike - 2015

Just when you thought you couldn’t have any more fun on the trails, the Juliana Nevis R Complete 2015 Women’s Mountain Bike had to come along. Then again, we’re really not complaining, since its outrageously capable aluminum frame is dressed in a sleek and sensible build kit, quickly standing in as your newest trusted ally out on the trails.

Strength is important, but it simply can’t come at the expense of unnecessary weight. Thanks to the hydroformed aluminum tubing, the Nevis strikes an ideal balance of the aforementioned factors. In achieving this balance, stiffness is paramount, which is why you'll find that the rear triangle has a thru-axle, and the head tube is tapered to accommodate modern forks.

Just as important in the discussion of balance is geometry, and the Nevis has that part dialed. At 69 degrees, the head angle is agile when climbing, but still leaves enough stability to keep you composed during high-speed descents. The roomy cockpit provides ample room to stretch out and get comfortable on longer rides, and positions you between the wheels for neutral handling. In other words, when you ask the Nevis to do something, it’ll oblige without fuss. But should you find yourself getting overwhelmed by the terrain, you can relax, because you’re riding a bike that’s capable enough to get you through hairy sections of trail with a smile on your face.

The R build starts off with a RockShox Recon Gold TK fork. The drivetrain consists of Shimano components, with SLX and Deore doing most of the heavy lifting, and a clutch-equipped Shadow+ XT rear derailleur keeping things quiet. Shimano Deore brakes keep you in control on the descents. For the cockpit, Juliana supplies the custom handlebar, grips, and saddle — each of which is designed to complement a woman’s body. A Race Face stem and seatpost keep the controls in check. The Nevis R rolls on a hand-built 27.5-inch wheelset that consists of SRAM hubs laced to WTB i19 tubeless-ready rims, and they’re wrapped in Maxxis Ikon tubeless tires.
