Jagwire Road Pro Complete Road Brake And Derailleur Kit $34.95
Not all cables are created equal.
A cable is a cable, right? If you've ever just told your mechanic, "use the cheapest ones you've got", you've probably figured out that isn't the case. A well-designed cable system for your bike not only makes shifting fluid, it also ensures that braking is smooth and powerful when you need it. Jagwire's Road Pro Complete Road Brake and Derailleur Kit adds style while enhancing shifting and braking.
The Jagwire cables are coated in Teflon and they are used with slick-lube liners. This greatly reduces friction while Kevlar reinforced, compression-less brake housings mean that the cables do not get crimped. This allows for optimal braking. All the parts you need for a complete road bike build, including cable ends and adjustment barrels, are included.
The Jagwire Road Pro Complete Road Brake and Derailleur Kit comes in 13 colors: Sid Blue, Red, Gold, White, Organic Green, Pink, Hi-Tech Gray, Black, Sterling Silver, Carbon Silver, Bianchi Celeste, Yellow, Orange, and Titanium.

Good Road Cables
- Gender: Male
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
Buying road cables is one of the few things that I hate to buy for my bike. That said, these work well, and are very smooth. Easy to cut to the needed lengths. If your housing is in good shape though, don't spend the extra money, just get the cables!
I bought the gold.. and it's amazing.. a little stiff for the road bike, bike it hold shape and my shifter is snapper than elastic. get some.
Is this set compatible with Shimano Ultregra...
Is this set compatible with Shimano Ultregra STI shifters?
This kit will work with all road shift systems including Shimano, SRAM, and Campy.
Is there enough brake housing in this kit...
Is there enough brake housing in this kit to install a mechanical disc brake setup with full housing? Thanks!
Jagwire's site say the kit come with 1700mm of housing
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Very easy to install and makes for a return to effortless shift performance. The setup is SRAM Rival brifters and derailleurs. Housing is very flexible and suggest making cuts with a housing specific cutting tool such as one from Park Tool. One interesting feature is the clear housing end that goes towards the shifter. It is marked on the housing but not referenced in the instructions. Appears to be slightly more flexible than the rest of the housing to make the bend against the bar/ under the tape (shown in photo). Had a few parts left over that must be used on different Shimano compatible groups - again not identified in the instructions. Instructions are a fair guide but if this is your first time replacing cables suggest you watch a couple YouTube videos (there are plenty). This replaced a GORE Ride-On set; the original version was great but the second gen did not live up to prior expectations. Read the reviews on Jagwire and Yokazuna Reaction - chose Jagwire mainly for the black color option. Have multiple color choices where YR only has two and was tired of white. The black looks good with the black Rival group. Took about 90-minutes to install. Great way to spend Christmas Eve. Limited use since just installed but expect great things.
