Jagwire 3G Tube Top $0.00
Don't get rubbed raw! And don't let these little jewels be an afterthought when you lay down the bucks for a new bike. Brake and shifter cables that run alongside the fresh anodized or painted finish on your bike will inevitably bend, bounce, or wiggle as you ride. Combine that with some dirt and road grime and you've got a recipe for scuffing or worse. Over time, cable housings can actually rub through the finish and into the tubes of your bike, possibly ruining your frame.
Save yourself the worry. Jagwire 3G Tube Tops will help protect your investment in a way you might not have imagined. They're made of super soft, silicone rubber and install in less than a minute. Each Tube Top is split down its length so it snaps easily and securely onto the offending section of cable housing. They are available in black in packs of four.

Protect Your Investment
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
If you're the type of person who likes to protect your investment, these tube tops are an inexpensive way to keep that brand new carbon frame looking like the day you got it. Unlike some others, they can easily be installed on pre-existing housing and stay put. Say goodbye to the days of a worn finish on your headtube.
Tube protection to the max
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
These little guys save you money in the long run. They sometimes get lost if you're rompin' real hard on the trails, but they sure do protect your cable housing from indefinite peril.
Does the job!
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
On my previous bikes I never addressed the issue of cable rub - and I paid the price. After 7 years of riding, my old bike had deep grooves worn into the head tube from the constant back and forth of my cable housing. When I upgraded to a carbon fiber bike I decided the time had come. I identified potential wear points, slipped the Tube Tops on, and ceased to worry. The only issue I see with these is that if they are installed near a substantial bend in the cable housing these can tend to migrate a little from where they were initially installed.
These little tube shields do a great job of protecting your brake and shifting cables as well as your frame. The only problem is that they tend to work their way up the cable so they have to be check occasionally.
