ISM Adamo Prologue Saddle $184.95
Relieve the pressure.
Watching the pros race may be inspirational, but when we start to emulate our heroes of the road, most of us find out sooner, rather than later that we aren't quite cut out to fit their aggressive positions. Perhaps the most noticeable position change is the virtual complete lack of stem spacers. Slamming the stem looks cool, but without flexibility and, more importantly, the correct saddle, numbness and pain await. The ISM Adamo Prologue Saddle is designed to give you the freedom to get low in the drops and the comfort to stay there.
ISM saddles are distinct in that they forego a traditional saddle shape in favor of a design that includes a forked tip or nose. In between the two forks, the Prologue Saddle has a sizeable cutout that relieves the pressure put on the perineal artery by many of today's typical racing saddles. Testing shows that the ISM saddle design maintains upwards of 95% of your normal blood flow to some pretty important body parts in comparison to the 5 - 10% of normal blood flow values for other standard racing saddles.
The Adamo Prologue saddle also has a notable difference in the fore and aft location of the paddle, or the widest portion, of the saddle. The Prologue has this width about 2/3rds of the way back from the front. Most other racing saddles have their greatest width at 3/4ths of the length from the nose. This means the ISM Adamo design will better support your sit bones as you inevitably roll your hips forward when you are riding fast and in an aerodynamic position. These three things -- the cutout, forked front portion and the location of the paddle ensure that your weight is supported by your skeletal system and not your soft tissue. A testimonial from the ISM website says it all, "the only pain you should feel after a long ride is in your legs."
The ISM Adamo Prologue Saddle is available in Black. It has lightweight chromoly rails with a 65mm flat section to offer great fore and aft adjustability. It's a full length saddle at 270mm and it's 135mm wide.

FEELS LIKE BUTT'R
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
OHHHH MYYYY GAWD! Thank the lord for this saddle. It is the most comfortably luxurious saddle ever! Ok, so I've only been riding for six months and upgraded to this from my stock saddle on my first ever road bike, a Focus Culebro, but my butt cannot lie, despite it's riding inexperience - this saddle is gold. I wouldn't even bother trying anything else. I fit into like a glove, except for a butt. You know the jersey/kit/bibs you always reach for every ride? This saddle would be that preferred item. I highly recommend at least trying it. My bike shop was kind enough to special order it for me, allow me two weeks test riding, and the option of a full refund if dissatisfied.
