I love this box, I have it on my Subaru forester and it looks great, doesn't effect the gas mileage and doesn't make much noise on the highway (by far much quieter then my previous boxes). Even with the low profile I can fit a ton of gear in it.

Ok - how many pair of skies can you really get in this box? you know 120cm under foot skis
probably 4 pair.

This looks like the only box that will clear my garage door, however the interior length has me concerned. I want to put a 6'4" surfboard inside but Inno website says interior length 74.8"... which is ~8" shorter then the exterior length... so I'm a bit skeptical. If one of the owners of this box would be willing to measure it for me I would be incredibly appreciative! Or if anyone has experience putting surfboards inside I'd be interested in knowing what size. Thanks!
...fyi I was putting 192cm Lib Tech NAS Pow skis in mine with room to spare. Thats 75.59" when you divide 192cm by 2.54cm per inch. I laid mine flat both bases down with twin tips up. Only concern for you I would think are the fins on your board, but I am not a surfer so don't know if they are removable or even if you need to. Thinking you should be fine length wise.
Owned this and The Yakima Low Pro Skybox
Hands down the INNO is da Winno.
A. its quieter by a bunch
B. the mounts on the high dollar Skybox get in the way of gear inside the box way more than the Inno.
C. Inno does not rob as much mileage and power
D. It looked better imo on my 2009 Outback.
E. The construction and quality of materials just smokes the Yak.
F. The locking mechanism on the Inno is brilliant. You can leave the key in the lock and it will not fall out while driving...seriously.
I took a hallway carpet floor runner and put it inside over the base of the box and mounts. My 190cm plus twins I could then put flat seperated side by side (2-3 pair) after skiing. No base to base rust...bueno. Wipe em down when you get home. Go hit it again.
If you are going on a trip and taking say 5 pair etc I just put the skis strapped base to base in individual bags if you are particular about your stuff and away you go.
I miss this box and am buying another for our 2013 Outback. They actually widened the mounting points on the 13' Suby for more box or cargo stability. Hey I know this is about the Inno not the Suby (but it may help)
O.K. guys/gals thats it...thats my story and I'm stickin to it... later... eat pasta ski fasta

this box is 9.8 inches high. this is the absolute max hight i can take and fit in my garage measured from the top of the factory rack on my Aviator.
Is the mount designed in a way, that the total height will remain 9.8 inched high from my rack or will it ad 0.5-1.0" of an inch in height??
I bought this box because I also only had just under 10" to spare above the racks on my 06 Jeep Liberty. I mounted it and wife drove in slowly...I cleared garage door frame by 1/2" and was happy as a clam. Another nice thing is that box opens from both sides so it is easy to load/unload. I carry a small 3 step ladder in back when I go skiing!

Will this fit on the factory roof rack of a 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser?
Will I need to get any extra hardware to make it work?
Hey Kevin, as far as I can tell you won't need any extra hardware if your FJ has a factory rack already installed... if it doesn't then you will have to get that setup first...
Super Low Profile
Super low profile. Mounts on the Shadow series are much more user friendly. This just takes a few more minutes to come on and off the racks as they use a "U" bolt and threaded knobs inside the box. The Shadow 15 & 16 have quick mount and release which is a huge upgrade. This model does look really sleek on the vehicle. Good box locking system on the INNO units.
