Why We Like The Ibis DV9 NGX Mountain Bike
From cruising the singletrack to crushing flow trails, the Ibis DV9 is a versatile and lightweight hardtail that is a blast to ride. With progressive geometry, size-specific seat tube angles, a low standover height, and short chainstays, the DV9 gives a playful and agile ride. A 66.5-degree head tube angle and a 74-76-degree seat tube angle give us the confidence and capability to take on steeper trails and be efficient on the climbs without losing sight of its precise handling. Dual 29-inch tires allow us to plow over trail obstacles and carry our speed more efficiently. The integrated chainstay and downtube protectors protect our frame from rock strikes and chain slaps, while two water bottle mounts inside the front triangle mean we can leave the hydration pack at home.
The NGX build of the Ibis DV9 is an entry-level build but gives us quality components fit for any trail rider. First, Ibis's carbon frame offers one of the lightest frames out there, weighing in at just 2.7 pounds for the frame, and is built to the highest standards. Next, SRAM's NX/GX Eagle mixed drivetrain provides precise and trustworthy shifting and a 12-speed drivetrain with a huge range for getting us up those technical climbs. Fox Performance suspension takes our performance up a notch and equips us with a Float 34 fork with a climb switch to lock out the fork for efficient climbing. Lastly, Ibis 933 aluminum rims and Ibis hubs serve up a capable and tough wheelset, while the premium Maxxis Rekon Race tires roll fast yet still bite into the dirt for race-ready traction.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
