Solve your energy-bar problem.

If you've ridden the roads of Belgium, Honey Stinger's Organic Stinger Waffles might remind you of the waffles you'd have inevitably snacked on. But aside from the waffle pattern and round shape, the differences are perhaps greater than the similarities.

Honey Stinger's Waffles are created just for endurance athletes, not merely as a tasty morning snack. And that they're packaged in single serving units makes them easy to carry in your jersey pocket for that moment when you'd like to eat something with a bit of texture. The Stinger Waffles are simultaneously toasty and chewy as you eat them. And unlike bizarre lab-born products, the natural ingredients in the Waffles chew easily and go down quick -- almost too quick. Because they taste so good, you'd like for them to last a bit longer.

Like their other energy foods, the Honey Stinger Waffles rely on honey, nature's energy food, for a majority of the carbohydrate load. The honey is easily digested because it's made of a just-right 1:1 blend of fructose and glucose. It acts quickly to give you a burst of energy and is easy on the stomach. With the waffle, you'll also get carbs from organic wheat and soy flour along with organic cane sugar and rice syrup. Honey Stinger Organic Stinger Waffles are packaged in a box of 16 individually wrapped waffles. They come in Honey, Vanilla, Chocolate, Lemon, and Strawberry flavors and are a great on and off the bike snack.

  • Comes as a box of 16 individually wrapped waffles
  • Each 30g waffle contains 160 calories
  • The sweet and chewy waffle doesn’t taste like an ‘energy bar,’ and you may catch yourself eating them at home
  • Not safe for cyclists or runners with allergies to wheat, soy, or eggs

  • 16 individually wrapped waffles
  • 160 calories per waffle
  • Contains wheat, soy, and eggs

Crumbly goodness

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

The waffles can get a little fragile sometimes, but they are still delicious and an excellent source of energy for whatever sport you're into where you need something light that packs a lot of punch. I'd recommend the chocolate, but all the flavors are pretty amazing.

Delicious!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I picked up the Strawberry flavor, and I wasn't disappointed. These taste great and they're ideal for people on the go.

The Vanilla is also extremely tasty as well!

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

gave it 5 stars but thats because it works as advertised. taste is, well, ok at best...i think the term "waffle" is kinda misleading...aint no ihop waffle, thats for sure. then again, they work and i will definitely continue to bring a couple of these on longer rides...

      Great on the move snack

      • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Easily the best snack for my rides. The package is fairly easy to open on the fly and delivers the energy I need with making me feel like I am actually eating something.

Usually I go for the chocolate, vanilla, or honey waffles.

      Addicting

      • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

The title should say enough. Although I favor some flavors above others, I like them all. After nearly 50 years of hiking, climbing, and paddling, I've finally found one thing that I will have with me on every trip regardless of where I go or mode of travel. My only very minuscule complaint is that they tend to crumble. But I suspect that the recipe would have to be altered to minimize the problem so leave them the Hell alone and I'll deal with the crumbs.

      Not enough chocolate

I've tried a few different flavors of these now and I like them, but I've gotta say, the chocolate was the most disappointing. It just doesn't have that real chocolatey taste I was hoping for. Though a disclaimer, I generally only enjoy dark chocolate.

          • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

These are great! Love these on long runs, climbs, and bike rides. Be sure to have some water to go with it if your running or biking as you'll get dry mouth really bad otherwise.

Honestly.. these are so good that I feel like I could take them to the movie theater for a snack!!

          55

          Gourmet on the go

These are delicious, you really can taste the quality and how real the ingredients are in them, like real ginger in the gingersnap.. They're a good little on the go snack for anywhere. I will definitely be trying more flavors.

            Great for on the go

            • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I eat these everywhere I go. Whether it is on the commute, on the trail, skin, track, or even sitting at my desk working.

              Stroopwafels be damned!

              • Familiarity:I've used it several times

OK, not really as these cannot compete with a hot cup of coffee and a stroopwafel in the morning, but you may be able to convince yourself otherwise on an early morning tour. Keep one in your pocket and it is a nice treat as you need a few calories on your way up the skin track. Very slim/light and just enough taste/sweetness along with 160 calories to keep you going. I like all the flavors, but usually prefer to grab a Gingersnap or Vanilla if given a choice. Slip one in a pocket, fishing vest or jacket and you have a quick and easy to digest snack for the day ahead.

              Buyer Beware,

              • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

              These things are addicting!

These things do harden up on a cold day, FYI. If you take them out skiing, etc., then make sure they are insulated close to your body or they'll be hard to eat, no pun intended.

              55

              One of my Go-to's

              • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

If you've got questions about these waffles, other Honey Stinger products, or energy foods, feel free to contact me.

I personally use these for a variety of sports. Longer ski tours, hikes, backpacking, longer trad climbs...pretty much anything where space and weight are important.

              Flavors:
I've used a variety of the flavors (I think almost all but possibly chocolate) and have no issues with the taste. I think it's better than other energy foods out there. But keep in mind, flavor/taste will differ from person to person and day to day.

              Cold Days:
On cold days energy bars and foods tend to harden up and become incredibly difficult to eat. What I love about the waffles is that they're low profile so putting 1-2 of these on my body in a warm area (arm pit, pockets, back or my hand under my gloves) they can thaw out in a less annoying way than a bulky bar will.

If you've got questions or want to chat about these or any other energy food before picking some up, feel free to reach out and I'd be happy to help out navigate the landscape of energy foods.

              Watch out for expiration dates!!

              • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

First off, these are excellent waffles. 5 stars, every flavor is the bomb.

This review is 1 star for backcountry.com and their diminishing quality control, which is borderline unethical this time. Usually a box of waffles has a ~9-month-from-the-day-you-get-them expiration date. This time, and the last time, I get a box or two with an expiration date of 2 weeks from when I receive them. So they're rock hard, borderline stale, and it's BS that backcountry is sneaking old inventory into orders. Shame on the quality control people, it's sad you are now repeatedly sinking to this.

WATCH OUT FOR EXPIRED BOXES GETTING SHIPPED TO YOU!!!!!!

              Watch out for expiration dates!!

              ColoradoMan,

Really sorry to hear that you received a box that was within a few days/weeks of its expiration.

Please contact me and I'd be happy to get this all corrected for you.

Gingersnap and Lemon, All the way

              • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I've eaten my fair share of these little condensed individually wrapped waffles, and I must say gingersnap tastes just like a gingerbread cookie and lemon tastes like a lemon fiber one bar. Strawberry flavor is good too. I was not keen on vanilla at first try, tastes like a butter cookie to me. It grows on you though.
