Hero Kit Hero Kit for Road Biking $0.00
Next time you get a mechanical, will you be able to fix it, or will you be stranded on the side of the road, waiting for help? Well, if you have the Hero Kit for Road Biking, you'll be able to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and tackle almost anything that has you sidelined. Whether you're fixing your own bike or your friend's, you'll be the one who just saved the day. And that'll make your post-ride beer taste that much better.
The Hero Kit includes both tools and instructions to help you handle the vast majority of roadside repairs. What does that mean? Well, for starters, you get a 12-function multi-tool that encompasses all of the Allen wrenches that you're likely to need, as well as a chain tool. To help you make the best use of the chain tool, there are both 9- and 10-speed master-links. Moving on, the included tire levers make puncture repairs a whole lot easier. There's also a patch kit for your tube, and a high-pressure tire boot in the event that you damage your tire.
Unlike the Super Hero kit, you don't get a pump, but odds are that you already have one. You'll even find some spare bolts, including a spare bolt for your cleats. There's a strip of duct tape, which will have you whipping up your own Bike'Gyver inspired fixes in no time. And since mechanicals seem to happen at the least opportune moments, there's even a poncho. If you need it, you'll be glad you have it.
All of those tools aren't much use if you don't know what to do with them. Accordingly, you'll find a manual that covers the majority of repairs that you're likely to face -- everything from fixing a flat to readjusting a derailleur. Granted, the whole process is easier if you know what you're getting into, so we'd recommend at least flipping through the manual before your first repair. Trust us, it makes the whole process much easier.
The Hero Kit for Road Biking is available in one size and it comes in a reusable clear pouch.

Indeed this HERO Kit Saved the Day
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Once upon a time in the O.C...I was on a random ride to Dana Point. The day turned out to be a solid 88 miles round trip. It was like any other ride, except I ran into a world of problems.
I had never broken a chain before, and never thought I would. I mean, hey, I've gone years and never had this issue, both on road and MTB.
And then the day came...
I don't know about you, but I keep all of my HERO Kit materials in a second water bottle: tube, tire levers, CO2, and these trusty parts from my HERO kit (multi-tool, extra links, cleat bolt, and manual).
I don't like saddle bags, especially after all of the dollars we put int our bikes being aerodynamic.
Anyway, back to the story. I broke a chain. No idea what to do about it. Then I dug into my water bottle and BAM! There was that handy dandy manual. Step by step, with pictures, I was able to change my first chain break. I had everything I needed!
Ofcourse, I flatted out from a stubborn goat-head. Rather than slap a new tube in...feeling inspired from my previous experience with the HERO kit...I decided this time that I was going to patch it. You see...the back of the tire levers have patches in them. Go figure...smart tools with everything needed nicely tucked away so as not to take up too much space. I thought I would give the patches a try, I already had a spare tube and an extra CO2, so why not go for it. Still haven't changed that patched tire.
Look, these guys have thought of every issue you can have out there. I mean, dude, they even include tush wipes...just in case crap happens.
For you weight wienies, they've made the kit as compact as possible, with patches integrated into tire levers. Brilliant.
I also have to give props to them for their MTB Field Repair Guide...there is ridiculous good advice in there.
All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed with the HERO Kit Folks.
Thanks guys, for thinking of it all and proving your worth with your thoughtful Field Repair Guides along with quality repair gear

This is a great tool kit to take on the long road rides. It has everything you need and also things you didn't think of. I like the fact that it comes with a small manual so you can read directions on how exactly to fix something-especially handy if you are not mechanically inclined. It is a little heavy though but definitely worth the little extra weight for piece of mind.
