HED Corsair Aerobar $950.00
Steve Hed lives in a wind tunnel. And while sleepless nights spent mulling over complex algorithms, carbon layups, and boundary layers could be bad for his home life, you prosper from his insomnia. The HED Corsair is the latest HED innovation in aerodynamic design. Featuring HED's lightest time-trial bar construction to date and a stiff full-carbon-fiber layup, the Corsair will certainly help shave off the seconds during your next race.
The HED Corsair is the lightest and stiffest HED full-aerobar in production. Its low weight (less than 600g, including integrated brake levers) and higher rigidity make it easier for you to sustain speed over longer periods of time. To create the unique shapes of the flat base and aerobar, HED drew on its 25+ years of wind-tunnel research; the Corsair's refined shape and rigidity is the result of all this work in this controlled environment. The carbon-fiber layup was meticulously adjusted and improved throughout the process to maximize rigidity while still maintaining the new aero shape. HED also engineered the Corsair with user comfort mind; the clamp-on aerobars are capable of a wide array of lateral and angular adjustments to maximize comfort and aerodynamics as your position changes throughout season. In fact, the armrest design tolerates a super-wide 200mm width. The base bar includes ergonomic hand positions and reverse carbon brake levers; it is also compatible with Shimano Di2 shift/brake levers. The base bar is also highly aerodynamic, and internal cable routing accentuates the Corsair's streamlined design. The Corsair is designed to be a non-integrated bar that allows you to use your preferred stem, stem length, and degree of rise.
The HED Corsair is available in a 42mm width, and with three extension options: J-Bend, L-Bend, and S-Bend. The Corsair is only compatible with 31.8mm clamp diameter stems, and includes carbon-fiber reverse brake levers on the base bar. The Corsair is being offered in the flat-design, and is compliant with the UCI 3:1 aspect ratio rule. Please note that the HED Corsair has very specific torque specifications.
