Description

Given the option of keeping five Hammer Gel packs in our jersey pockets to tear open with our teeth one by one, or keeping the contents in a dedicated receptacle like the Hammer Nutrition Flask, we'd choose the latter. The Nutrition Flask holds five Gel servings, and features a thick construction that's compatible with Hammer's bike holders. The flask also uses both a molded fingertip design, and a hygienic, secure cap, that allows you to hammer down your gel—all puns intended.

The Hammer Nutrition Flask is available in the color White, and holds five servings of Hammer Gel.

Just.What.I.Needed.

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I made the DIY energy gels according to the post in the Backcountry.com Articles section, and this is the container I use to inject the energy-gooiness into my gullet. Great size, 5oz is plenty of room, nice squeeze to it, cap is easy to manage, and fits well in a cycling jersey pocket.

30-day update: I've been using this guy 3x week, and love it. And, I've been fortunate enough to not lose the protective cap, so my jersey pocket is staying clean, still, too.

I made energy gels based on the recipe in Backcountry.com community article, http://www.backcountry.com/explore/how-to-make-energy-gel

WIN

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

Not only do these save money, as others have pointed out, and carry five servings, they do it without the what the heck do I do with this sticky mess of an empty gel packet problem. That's where the real money is. Oh, and the Montana Huckleberry is WIN.

These little guys work great

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I use this with my camelbak and other packs I have for riding. Works great.

These are not the same as getting a pack of FSA prepacked gu flasks. Those are much thinner and I can see being used a couple times but this is a much heavier material made to last.
