Sensor Elite Complete Mountain Bike - 2015

In an industry that's become increasingly hyper-specialized, the GT Sensor Elite Complete Mountain Bike provides what may be the best single combination of components and frame geometry for riders of all levels and ambitions to traverse virtually all off-road terrain. It's a refreshingly flexible machine that's ready for weekend riding, white-knuckled heart rate explosions, and all cycling applications in between.

The Sensor's 6069 hydroformed aluminum frame rings the familiar refrain of lightweight durability that continues to see this material and manufacturing process at the head of the industry. When the stiff efficiency of aluminum meets the Sensor's 68.5-degree head tube angle and 44.6-inch wheelbase (size medium), it produces a full suspension build that doesn’t compromise on climbing, technical handling, or terrain-tackling confidence.

The Sensor Elite gets a boost in suspension over the Sensor Comp, with the two goal posts of shock manufacturing, FOX and RockShox, coming on board. The rear shock is FOX's FLOAT CTD Boost Valve, which gives the rider three settings to capitalize on travel for downhilling, stiffen up for climbing efficiency, or level out for some cross-country rocket time. The Boost Valve complements the FLOAT's generous 7.25 inches of travel by compensating in favor of a responsive pedaling platform during the initial stages of compression and giving a bottomless ride during the end of the stroke. Up front, The RockShox Sektor Silver TK Solo Air nets 130 millimeters of travel with a lockout option and rebound adjust. It's the perfect blend of on-the-trail functionality and in-the-wallet value.

The drivetrain reinforces the Sensor Elite's focus on being a one-for-all machine, with Shimano Deore Rapid Fire shifters and Deore derailleurs to shepherd the KMC X10 chain across the Shimano CS-HG50-10 cassette. The Japanese mountain love continues with a matching Deore triple crankset and Shimano hydraulic brakes. The Sensor Elite's Alex DP21 rims are tubeless-ready and laced to All Terra sealed bearing hubs. GT provides its own grips and the tires are Continental X-Kings, which provide a slightly beefier girth than the WTB tires on the Sensor Comp. All Terra rounds out the rest of the kit's ancillary components.
