Laguna 24" Girl's Bike - 2015

Understanding the importance of blending fun, stability, and control into a kid's bike is what guided GT's design of the GT Laguna 24in Girl's Bike. The company understands the importance of all of these things in ensuring that your little gal isn't just comfortable on her bike, but wants to ride it, too.

The Laguna's frame is a big deal here, and by big we mean just right size-wise. Two significant details make it seriously great. First is the geometry of it, that's shaped precisely to accommodate growing young cyclists without intimidating them. Little riders will immediately feel comfortably in control of the bike, thanks to a very low standover height (so they don't have to stand on their toes to stabilize the bike when not rolling) and a low head tube. The second big factor is GT's use of super light and super strong 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. It's the same top-notch stuff used on high-end adult road and mountain bikes. It's true that it might be a bit overkill for a kid's machine, but developing riders will surely appreciate the fact that the thing is so light, maneuverable, and tough.

The Laguna's parts are also great for budding cyclists. The Suntour fork up front helps absorb shock to help them stay in control. A 21-speed drivetrain is controlled by grip-style shifters that are quick and easy to master. Linear-pull brakes are easily powerful enough to quickly shed speed, but they're easy to modulate and not grabby. Down below, a durable combination of tough wheels and puncture-resistant tires keeps them rolling without worry.

The GT Laguna 24in Girl's Bike comes in only one size, and in the colors Purple Haze or Gloss White. The bike is sized for kids between the approximate heights of 4'5" (134cm) and 4'10" (147cm). Please note that the bike comes almost fully built but needs some minor assembly and tuning out of the box, so we strongly recommend visiting a trusted local bike shop to give it a once-over before riding.
