Let your imagination ride wild.

By mating the comfort and efficiency of carbon fiber with GT's Triple Triangle design, the Grade Carbon 105 Complete Bike lets your imagination decide your ride, not the limitations of where the road goes. Really, though: the Grade Carbon doesn't care about terrain. It's equally at home on asphalt as it is on gravel. We suspect this flexibility is owing to GT's BMX pedigree, or maybe it's just the magic of the Triple Triangle frame. Either way, you have to ride it to believe it.

The iconic Triple Triangle design was first introduced 24 years ago and its simple effectiveness hasn't been surpassed to date. The sharper angle of the seatstay lets GT reinforce the stays, so they're more laterally stiff, and it also distributes road noise and bumps through the frame instead of just porting them straight up the seatpost. The seatstays are also thin, flattened, and slightly bowed to add a touch of bump-devouring compliance that the angled connection at which the chainstay meets the rear hub only contributes to.

The geometry is designed for all-day endurance riding, with a slack head tube angle to keep you comfortable and in control without feeling overly twitchy. The head tube is also tapered, which makes for more stability on a fast descent and better power transfer when you're enjoying the Triple Triangle's snappy acceleration by hammering out of the saddle. The oversized down tube and bottom bracket also help eliminate lost watts, so you put more power into the dirt, gravel, or asphalt. Finally, GT's Dual Fiber Dynamic tech involves the incorporation of glass fibers inside the carbon for additional responsiveness.

The shiniest bits in the bike's kit are either the new Shimano 105 drivetrain, which is celebrating the new year by going to 11-speed, or the Stan's NoTubes Grail rims. We're definitely detecting some Ultegra trickle-down tech at work in the 105, both in the internals and the aesthetic of the group. The Grails match the frame in that they transition easily from gravel to road to 'cross course. For the brakes, GT chose Shimano's hydraulic R685 grabbers, which are another bright spot challenging the drivetrain and wheelset. An FSA SL-K seatpost and Fizik's beloved Aliante saddle round out the Grade's kit.
