Protection you can slip on faster than weather changes.

Rain never stops you from jumping onto the bike, but it can put an end to the positive vibes if your feet end up soaked. The Gore Bike Wear Road Thermo Overshoes use a waterproof, yet breathable Gore-Tex barrier against rain and snow so that won't happen.

The lightweight design and added stretch lets you easily pull the Road Thermo Overshoe over any bike shoe without a hassle. And its cut-outs will clear all current pedal/cleat systems. While it offers adequate clearance, this area can still cause abrasion to the OverShoes. To prevent premature failure, Gore used Kevlar reinforcement and durable materials.

For those bone chilling rides, you'll enjoy the Road Thermal OverShoes' PrimaLoft insulation. It retains warmth, yet allows perspiration to escape through the Gore-Tex membrane so your shoes and feet stay dry even if you're working up a sweat. And, if you find the warmth to be too much, the rear hook and loop closure lets you quickly pull the Thermal OverShoes off.

Along that zip is reflective piping, and along with reflective logos, you'll have added low-light safety for those dark, overcast rides. At the ankles, a hook-and-loop closure ensures cold air and rain are locked out. The Gore Bike Wear Road Thermo OverShoes come in fives sizes and one color; Black.

sizing info

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size

I wear a 44.5 S-Works MTB shoe - ordered the XL but it was too big. On a size 45 shoe which is slim it would be slightly baggy. This would probably work fine on my older size 45 chunkier specialized shoes. I suppose this is true to size based on the sizing chart.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

I've used these overshoes in 40F weather and they've kept my feet really warm. Construction, looks good though I have not used them long enough to know how long the soles will last. The holes on the bottom line up perfectly for my mountain bike shoes. They fit really well with the adjustable velcro. The ranges in size are a bit constrictive - I wear a size 6.0 and ordered the 4.5-6.0 because the next size up is all the way up to 6.5-8.0. As a result, they take a bit longer to put on because they need to be positioned exactly into place. I would have liked it if there were a few more options in size.

Ridiculously warm and insulated

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

One of the best and most durable shoe cover and it worth every penny.
First it is water proof courtesy of Gore tex membrane and the extra insulation add a little warmth to any shoe. I have used it for 2 years through the snow, rain and ice and besides some road marks on the left sole (I unclip my left when I stop), the cover looks brand new after washing.
It fits slightly large, as I am able to use it over my Sidi Winter shoe

Keep my feet warm and my shoes clean

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I use the road ones for road and mtb. If you're on the edge, size wise, go up a size so they'll fit over your mtb shoes (if your mtb shoes are bulky). Place a chemical heating packet between your shoe's toe and the bootie with some tape if you're worried about getting cold toes. Sometimes putting them inside your shoe directly can put pressure on your toes and inhibit circulation.

I've worn a set of these into the ground. Duct tape held them together seasons past their shelf life. If you avoid walking on rocks in these, they'll last forever.

Gets the job done...looks good doing it

One chilly morning (35*) I went for a ride and after about 10 miles or so my toes felt like a block of ice; I could barely move my toes and could only muster 15 miles that day because the dogs were killing me. I even had a hard time shifting gears in my vehicle after the ride until my toes thawed.

So I was on a mission to eliminate the frozen toes. Since I am a fan of Gore products that's where I started the journey. I went to the local bike shop (LBS) and tried on several booties (Gore, Pearl Izumi, Louis Garneau and Bontrager) and I settled on the Gore; unfortunately the LBS did not have my size in stock. Although more expensive than others, unless you catch a deal on them, they definitely get the job done. I can't compare them to other booties since I have only used these and only plan to use these for years to come.

I went out on another ride in 34* weather and a bit windy, but this time with the Gore booties and my toes never came near being frozen; a night and day difference when compared to the ride without the booties. I was able to do 25 miles and never even thought about the feet or toes. A happy customer.

What I like about the Gore booties:

    1. keep the toes and feet toasty
    2. Look good doing the job
    3. easy on, easy off
    4. Very little branding on the booties (hate all that branding stuff)
    5. Velcro full length of the booties (allows customization of fit for any size leg - tight, loose etc.)
    6. lifetime guarantee

What I don't like: The cost of course

Note: the description talks about zippers. There are no zippers on these booties; the booties fasten with velcro at the back (see attached image).
