Description

Protection you can slip on faster than weather changes.

Waterproof, breathable, and lined, the Gore Bike Wear Race Power Thermo Overshoe is a super-warm winter bootie with a potent combination of weatherproof fabrics to keep your feet warm and dry. First, the Gore-Tex Performance shell provides maximum breathability, then Gore-Tex stretch panels help with the a versatile fit, and lastly, a fleece lining for warmth, and a neoprene cuff at the top for sealing out the elements. The back of the bootie is held together by Velcro, making it easy to get in and out. Knowing that you're going to be walking, they've also stitched abrasion-resistant material in the sole areas between the generous cutouts for your cleat, heel, and tread. While this is considered a road overshoe, remove your toe-spikes and it can go over your MTB shoe, so long as you don't intend to hike in it.

The Gore Bike Wear Race Power Thermo Overshoe is black, and is available in Small (36-38, Medium (39-41), Large (42-44), and XL 45-47 -- if you're between sizes, size up.

Which Gore overshoe product is warmer, the Race Power Thermo or the Oxygen Thermo?

Responded on

The Oxygen Thermo SO shoe cover is probably a little warmer, but it is windproof / water-RESISTANT.

The Race Power Thermo is not quite as warm, but is windproof / water-PROOF.

hope that helps,

On second thought...

I'd previously commented that I thought the size chart was off. I wear a 42.5 shoe and thought the size large was way too big. well, ordered the size medium and it was too small. rats!

After trial and error I've found that it helps if I lift my toes while pulling on the overshoe. This helps the velcro back apply straight up and down and removes the lumpy look.

Oh, and this overshoe is great for keeping out the cold and wind.

Freakin' Awesome

Portland rain doesn't stand a chance with these badazz booties. Buy them big so they fit over your shoes, however.

If i wear a size 43 Sidi what size overshoe should I get? I am confused because I have been reading that i should get a size smaller on some other website. Is this the case? I want to make sure these things fit right

Responded on

I would probably go with a large if you wear a 43 sidi. Have faith in realcyclist.com's exchange policy if the fit isn't just right!

Hope that helps,
Robert, GORE BIKE WEAR

Responded on

yea see exchanges arent the problem, but I live in Armenia so it takes about 3 weeks for them to get here which means I would have to wait for 6 weeks to return/get a new pair... by that time i will have frostbite because my shoe covers suck.

what temperature is this overshoe rated for? I know it's subjective but it's a way to compare similar products. thanks,

Responded on

I'm afraid we don't rate any of our gear for any specific temperature ranges, as it is so specific from person to person. The insulation combined with the fact that they are water AND wind proof makes them pretty warm! I'd wear them down to 35-45 personally, but that's just me!

hope that helps,

How much lining is actually in these?

How much lining is actually in these?

Responded on

not sure how to quantify it exactly, but they are lined with a light quilting. This insulation combined with the fact that they are water and wind proof makes them pretty warm!
